Helpful hints, tips, and advice. 1. Meteors can't hurt your base but they can hurt you. 2. Meteors drop basic resources like aluminum. 3. The silver rock formations you seen when exploring is where aluminum is. 4. The water doesn't get very high so you didn't need to build that high. 5. The resources dropped from meteors will despawn after some time. 6. Always upgrade to the next tier don't bother rebuilding the lower tier it's just a waste of time. I have lots more tips but for now on my series I got luck with choosing random spawn location and ended up right in the aluminum sector

I think it's best when the meteors actually hit your base. It's like if "Amazon drone delivery" actually worked as it does right now; as in it doesn't. You'd get your stuff delivered, but actually on your door step and through your roof. . . plus a bunch of drone parts, fire, and smithereens.

the place kosmo built his base is one of THE MOST Prone spots to geting hit by meateors at least acording to MY experiens of the game not to burst anyones bubble... but thats a GOOD thing becaus meateors bring resorses like iron titanium and (ALUMINIAM) right to YOU and do NoT hurt your base!

Quite honestly, I built my own base up there after a certain event happened in the game (those who are playing just need to keep playing and build everything to find out what it is). But I've seen that Draegast also built his base up there. I think that's the default, "first play through, assumed, first safe zone" for everyone who isn't watching others progress far into the game.

Man, this game is well made thus rewarding you for bigger investments: wind turbine gives you 1.2/s, solar panel 6.5/s, solar panel t2 19.5/s. I know they need aluminum but Im pretty sure that is what these meteorites are for... Single T2 solar panel can replace 16 wind turbines, quite a space saver. As for base moving you could have used that: take resources and build higher tiers leaving bad structures behind

nice seeing some of the changes since the demo. When I played the demo I had about 4 smaller bases set up in various locations about the map. Particularly close to either certain wrecks or resources, I also would just carry the resources to build a single room, door and simple builder thing for water/o2 bottles. Plop one of those down where you are exploring toss some chests into it and instant relay station. Have fun

Dont worry about the lake much it only goes up about 3 buildings high and teh cycle goes bleu sky clouds rain liquid water lakes and the lakes take like 20H to fill

Noice and don't worry the place you have chosen as a new base is perfect! And when the ice has melted, you get a god resource cave. its a bit far of tbh, but in a good place. And yes, that little hill would have been sufficient too... but not as much fun ;) Also, as others have pointed out, the meteors are a good thing, they have a chance to spawn aluminium. And in later game you can build rockets that drop meteors filled with uranium. Some of that you need for nuclear reactors. Pro tip, if you go exploring always take 3 Iron, 2 Titanium and 1 Silicium with you, then you can build yourself a shelter when O2 gets low

Technically you wouldn't have needed any comments to tell you to build your base higher up if you can cipher simple cryptic messages. I'll just tell you right now that once the tech is available, build the communications antenna and screen and just keep checking the messages that come in. But yeah, I'd suggest, not that I have any power over your community to declare so, that any plot spoilers be quashed and for things to be just hinted at. Like, "Hey Kosmo, you might want to harvest a bunch of aluminium or silicon." Or, "Kosmo, around (insert time stamp here), you may want to go and search that area a bit more thoroughly." Just saying things like, "Kosmo, there's a secret hidden on this thing located in this area that will let you do this and that so when something-something happens you can still do that one thing." is too on the nose and ruins things. Guide and help Kosmo, don't tell him how to play. That being said, Kosmo, just a suggestion, because it's something I've found pretty useful myself, move your veggie tubes and heaters upstairs. There's very little "efficiency" in having your crafting stuff upstairs and having stationary terraforming things just sitting in the way of you getting around. Having them upstairs and running works just as fine and gives you room to keep things a bit open if not down size a little. I just know I ran into my heaters a few times, not in any life or death situations; but even after I stuck them in a corner, I'd clip them walking past them too close, so just moving them up to where I'm rarely ever going helped a lot. Just a suggestion for a bit of QOL improvement.

BTW, you can build extra living compartments while in a living compartment. You just need to be aiming at the wall or ceiling you want the new compartment to be at. It's a bit strange since for compartments above you, you can't verify before you place them that they're exactly where you want them to be, but it's handy if you just have a storage box of titanium and iron and want to go ham. Also, while it's not quite not a spoiler, I will suggest you both build multiple food growers and keep an eye out on other veggie seeds beyond eggplants. Eggplants restore the least amount of health of all the possible edible veggies you can grow. There's also mushrooms, squash (that looks more like an onion. . . ), and beans. So just keep an eye out for them just so you realize their value. Lastly, to reconfirm what everyone else has said so far, meteors do not damage your buildings. If they did, we'd have a repair module chip, which we don't thankfully. Just hope we keep it that way because any kind of damage to the living compartments would be a compromise to our guaranteed oxygen supply.
