Thank you mate! Yes they certainly had a goofiness about them! I did the best I could whilst keeping things fairly simple! 😅 thanks for the kind feedback 🙏
@eskhaphey28734 ай бұрын
Tis the nipple guns, weird place to be shooting stuff out from, personally a large central cannon mounted between the legs would have been just as goofy. What they should have been are a bridge between marine and dreadnought, so only the horribley mutilated marines put into a half casket rather than one that is fully mutilated put into a full casket with legs. That way ths proports could easily be fixed by having the arms and legs mechanical, and have one arm weilding a gun thecbother with a melee weapon like is normal for soace marines, instead of drill fist that isnt a power fist with a drill or attached cannon and triple nipple guns. The entire aesrhetics of a centurion is tau based not space marine based.

For my centurions, I essentially took your aggressor fix and reversed it, giving the centurions back-attached belt feeds for their heavy bolters (I used spare resin ones from the heresy to get exactly the right bend) which fits with their massive bulk. I also gave them an aggressor style hood cowling to really complete the ~starcraft~ heavy armour look, and added a MK VII style gorget with greenstuff to complement the added helmet height and really sell the "massive frontal armour" style. Admittedly they did basically end up looking like a different kind of terminator, almost a saturnine pattern.

Really like this conversion! As someone who both loves and hates the Centurion design, I feel like it really helped. It's still distinctly a Centurion, but many of the issues have been greatly reduced - and without an excessively complicated set of modifications. Regarding the milliput, have you tried mixing it with Green Stuff? I find that combination works really well - as a gap filler, adhesive, and even for casting duplicate parts if you've got any Blue Stuff (or its equally good no-name versions) for casting molds.

I really like (and have done the same) conversion that Jay ovr at Eons of battle did with his Centurions in his "FIXING the Most HATED Space Marines" video. Its alot more work than this and I can't really recomend it to everyone, but I really do think its the best way to fix the unit and makes them truey massive. I play mine as agressors on 40mm bases. Your method is quite a nice middle ground in terms of the effort needed, not exactly 20% 80%, but definitely alot better than the default way of assembleing the unit :) Really like the default heads they come with tho, really uniqe to the unit. Oh and btw, if you want to reduce how much the miliput "slips",, just pin the parts in place! Means the joint will be alot stronger and should more or less stop it moving around.

I wonder if you could get a better close combat weapon for one of these out of the ambot kits, or if one of the genestealer kits has a better sized drill. I've always disliked the implementation of the centurions, but they almost feel like the old space marine/rouge trader/space hulk through second or third ed descriptions of terminators being something that you drove more then wore "bipedal tanks" as a sort of a small end of the demi-titans like the grey knight Nemesis dreadknight. I can imagine trying to do a conversion with this the ambot and the DK to try and make something that looks more like an oversized terminator, maybe with some 3d printed upscale terminator shoulders and a normal size terminator head.

Being perfectly honest, no they're still unsalvageable. The work you put in is impressive, and i don't wish to take that away from you but there is just something so very un-space mariney about them.

That’s fair enough mate. Sorry they weren’t for you but thanks for taking the time to check out the video 🙂

The mould lines on that model are terrible. I didn’t think those kits were that old. But that amount of mould line mashes me think the mould is completely clapped out.

Some of them are pretty bad! Although I’m not actually that bothered by mould lines which is why you’ll generally spot them on my minis. I can only bear to devote so much time to tidying them up! 😅 thank you for watching mate 👍

This whole idea of people trying to make a genetically bulky human ..look the same as a regular everyman escapes me ... If you use the lore from their skeletal and muscular structure ...and understand how that would make a human look ...add the extra organs and black carapace ..fused ribs ...they would look stumpy ...because it's the opposite of tall and skinny ....with thicker bones,more cord like muscles .. I understand the need though ...with the size of terminators now ....

I’m a physical therapist so I’m afraid I can’t look at the stumpy firstborn without sniggering! 😄 more than that though, it’s just about being happy with your own miniatures - the old ones bugged me so I changed them 🙂 thank you for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts 👍
