Mrs. CarDr 😂 had a Great idea, with the hourly plus FRT bonuses. Tesla does that they give bonuses for employees who hit or exceed FRT time constantly while paying hourly. Great way every tech I’ve spoke to loves it & insures good quality work every time.

When I was a 63T Bradley mechanic that repaired hmmv, 5 tons, duece and a halfs, occasional M1 Abrahams tanks I felt bad if I let my Plt Sgt or Squad leader Ssg Imes and Sgt Rednoir down when I rushed through and missed torqueing down a bolt that comes out of a generator. These leaders looked out for all us soldiers and had our backs. I became very conscious and ocd my repairs. Having people who become more than employees and more l8ke family is golden in my book

ok two things in this video. 1. LOVE the fact you took your shopping cart back, can't tell you how many people just leave it in the parking space. Small stuff like that shows consideration in even the smallest aspects of your lives. and 2. Love the fact you guys pay hourly, I left Toyota for that exact reason, the best paid people were the ones who cut the most corners and management love that. You guys are becoming my favorite car channel on youtube, sometimes good vibes from family business is all you need.

I worked flat rate I couldn’t stand flat rate because you work 60 hours but on flag 30 hours. The best shop worked out they payed hour plus insensitive. Outside of being a independent contractor for a couple shops that paid percentage on the job one I was get 40% and the other I was getting 25% the 40 % on the job I was making over 1500 a week

Rain Man. Ray is a pretty cool dude. Talked to him about various work plus he is honest. I'm going to have him work on my car. He's about 150 mi from me. I'm in Orlando. He's right outside of Brandon or Sarasota area. Nice guy. I know down here the flat rate down here where hourly is around $ 24 bucks an hour and I think in Atlanta probably somewhere in the same so at least you got kind of an idea. You know some of them go by hours on jobs. Some just go by hourly pay up to you. Sometimes they do a little commission on top of hourly. First and foremost is y'all got to make some money for you + can go from there

How about hourly plus an incentive like a commission. Make the incentive a combination of service based like how long they’re with you guys plus their training / skills. Not just how many classes they can take but measure how they apply that knowledge they learned into their daily work to increase the incentive?

I only have one part time guy now, because I will be 65 this year it is time to slow down, I moved into a smaller shop a few years ago so my overhead is low, but when I had 5 full time guys the trained mechanics got paid hourly and flat rate, if the goal was 30 an hour I would pay 15 on the clock and 15 flat rate, had guys getting over a hundred hours a week when we had good jobs, but they still got a good pay on bad weeks
