Fixing the ZV-E1 Photography Issues

Thanks for another excellent video. I agree totally with the manual use, and focus assist. In facgt I stopped buying AF lenses and largely just hae manual glass now. It can be a daunting thing at first but onece you start going manual you can be so much more creative and work the focus and aputure with out even thinking about it within a few days of deciding to give it a go! Manual lenses don't tend to have IS which isn't the most ideal for video work, but for photography they tend ot be faster lenses so you can run a much faster shutter speed to get cleaner data.

I agree with you about 12 mp being enough. I've never encountered a problem because of it, and it's more forgiving for even cheap lenses. My Sony a7sI screen died, and I really want to replace it with something like this, but the lack of a viewfinder really kills it for me. I do most of my photography in the desert, so during the day using the screen is very hard, even with focus peaking like you showed. But the other issue is night photography, the light of the screen will attract bugs from miles away, or might disturb other night time photographers (specifically for astrophotographers). It's frustrating because I know it would have probably increased the price a little, but not as much when compared to the already high price. Including a viewfinder should have been mandatory because even without the some extra dials to make still photography easier, this would have been close to the perfect nighttime / low light camera, and instead it has a "bigger microphone" that almost no one uses.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm sick of these "oh it's amazing" review videos. I'm trying to sell my Sony RX100vii to move to this. I regret not going into mirrorless from the beginning. The rx100 has 20megapixels but honestly I don't think it compares to the newer full frame sensor that the zv-e1 has. Any thoughts? Am I making a mistake? I want it for family photos/videos & to do some vlogging/KZbin videos.

Sigma 16 to 28 is what was used for most photos in this video. Also, 90mm Macro on a few shots. Highly recommend the Sigma mentioned … great 2.8 zoom.
