I have a late 80s Charvette, which has a plywood body. It came with a crappy Floyd Rose trem, but an AMAZING neck. Anybody who plays it doesn't want to put it down! A few years ago, I took it to my local luthier, Feline Guitars, and the guy had a neck saved from the same guitar, and he said it was one one of the most sought afer neck out there. He also said that a guitar being made of plywood makes absolutely no difference, except a possible weakness in the neck join area.

Getting a real rosewood board is worth 50 dollars all day long, that’s what I love about the old Squiers they are cheap but have real rosewood boards and with a little elbow grease they can make some really good playing beaters for sure.

The neck on this guitar is legit amazing. Like USA good

@@boechlerguitarsandrepair I bought a squier off a neighbor of mine several years ago and tore it apart and worked the neck over really good and I actually took a palm sander to the back of the neck. I bought the guitar to play around with and mod it and the neck felt a little chunky for me. Anyway slapped a jb in it VH style and put it back together and I was legit shocked at how good it felt. A couple of my friends played it and one said it was the best feeling and playing Strat he’d ever tried and he had to have it, the only thing it really needed was some decent tuning machines and it would’ve been gig worthy, anyway I sold it to my friend and I’ve regretted it ever since. I’m just waiting on the right old Squier to cross my path with the old rosewood board and for 100 or less to try and build me another VH inspired beater.

Yeah, ceramic magnets don’t sound good to me either in the blended positions and they lose their magnetic field overtime

I recently paid 150 forma stratocaster mim body. Yard sales are the way! Lol

In the fact that case is worth more than the guitar squires every day at pawn shop for 75 bucks wouldn't pay a dollar more and they all work fine other than a good cleaning
@davidkastin4240Ай бұрын
You stole it for $50 😮😂 The case is worth that. I've seen a couple of these MIK Strats recently going for $300 each retail, a lefty and a righty.

Basically free guitar

There's a huge gap on the bottom side of the neck pocket. It is several cm long. For some reasons, quality discussing "experts" never notice it
@Leo_ofRedKeepАй бұрын
You got a used case at a good price. There's just a dirty guitar inside, but that can be removed easily ;)

That's a beautiful color for a strat, black and sunburst have gotten so common and boring
@joshsmith7033Ай бұрын
It's still a $50 strap

Just say the way it it, Korean guitar are sought after because economics. Used to be Japanese guitars back in 2000s . Guess now Japanese and American made guitars are just out of reach price point for 90% of guitarists.

ya, that's what it's worth, about 50$. You didn't get overcharged

He got a bargain.... sounds pretty decent.
@rodnyg7952Ай бұрын
@@mikethebloodthirsty I wouldn't know if any guitar is a bargain unless I tried it out. On video nobody can tell how it feels to play, or actually sounds. All we can really know for sure is what it looks like
@mikethebloodthirstyАй бұрын
I don't think Korean guitars are that great in general... The early ones are the best most definitely... Before Fender told them to lower quality. Cort were one of the best makers.
@boechlerguitarsandrepairАй бұрын
I've played some amazing ones but Ive played some "meh" ones too. Ive never heard of Fender asking them to lower quality, what's the story with that?

Plywood is a problem if the strings pull the bridge out of it. Idiots can discuss tonewood for the rest of their lives, it makes no difference worth talking about.
@rodnyg7952Ай бұрын
well, the fact is that wood does make a big difference in tone, especially on an acoustic, semi & hollow body guitars. Heavier woods, like mahogany, resonate differently than a medium-bodied wood like alder and lighter wood like basswood. A guitar's resonance is made up by many factors, including wood. If not, then just cut costs, and make them all from super light injected plastic molds. How nice would that sound to you
@Leo_ofRedKeepАй бұрын
@@rodnyg7952 The tonewood "debate" is about solid body guitars. No one debates the rest.
@rodnyg7952Ай бұрын
@@Leo_ofRedKeep wrong, tone-wood is about the resonance of wood and how it contributes to sound. It traditionally refers to specific wood varieties used for percussion, woodwind or acoustic stringed instruments. This includes modern instruments as well, like solid-body & semi-acoustic electric guitars, keyboards, electric pianos, organs, etc... You only get to decide what you debate, not what everyone does
@Leo_ofRedKeepАй бұрын
@@rodnyg7952 I am talking about the "tonewood debate" raging amongst guitar buying fools. Are you being stupid on purpose?
