Anything else done to the car is just one thing, but the painting in the boot…is a level that really transcends the practicality of “just” renewing a car, it becomes a spiritual tribute. Gareth is such an awesome character. Love it when he comes to the show. You should definitely makes him a permanent part of the CT crew. The other thing that really tingles the right parts in my brain is the detailing. Every time i watch a detailing video, especially on an older car, my soul just softens. Soooo satisfying to see the machine that battled through weather and time, still looking gorgeous underneath all that wear. Just needing a little bit of hand-touch and involvement and it looks and feels special. And the end is just the epitome of what to be a car guy is. It's more than just looking at cars as cool machines. They become part of your life and family, create and carry memories. Establishes that bond between father and son. It's indescribable with words, but so much strong and evident. Loved that video.

The locked door was brilliant - I had a superfun issue with my E46 where the keyfob wouldn't disengage the alarm and locks anymore. No issue, just use the key in the keyway job done. Until the key barrel broke. Ah. Ok. Plan B was lock the car via the passenger side: key out, close drivers door, around to passenger and lock drivers door pin, then drop the pin on the passenger door before closing. "How", you may ask, "do you then UNLOCK" the car. Well, dear reader. This is done via a very technical piece of string around the drivers door release, in combination with the only working key barrel - the boot. So string over the (folded down) back seat, fold seat up, then when you want to unlock, open boot, fold down seat, pull string, door opens. This was about a month or so before I got the key battery fixed and was able to use the buttons again, all back to normal! .... Or so I thought. Cut to a few weeks after the battery replacement. Click button to unlock car. No. String Theory was long-abandoned at this stage, and I was back to setting an alarm. Only one thing for it. Open boot with key, fold seats down, ignore alarm blaring and dive headfirst INTO boot, worm your way up to the drivers seat, key in ignition, press unlock button to silence alarm. Start engine because why not, exit car, return to rear and close boot, sit back in car, fold rear seat back up. Casually drive away like you're not mortified. Thanks chaps, this has made me start the list my 325 needs, it's sat in a unit waiting for me to get the finger out, and with your video it's given me the kick I sorely needed.

Trying to sell my old E46 with the GM5 on the way out... Unlocking and locking over and over until eventually the door locks popped up. Great times...

You guys are brilliant. Spreading the love. I am sure there are so many viewers that wouldn't mind training on some of the repairs you done. Not to be a mechanic but to be maintain their cars

I love this type of content and it's a shame that most of the content on KZbin isn't about taking care of eachother. I follow you guys already a long time but these series are awesome👍🏼💪🏽 Ps: It's a shame we didn't see the reveal in daylight😅

My dad and I had a project car, he too passed away in 2018. I eventually sold the car but it was honestly one of the hardest decisions I made. God bless his wife for telling him not to sell it. Didn't watch the video fully at this point and got to the end with the surprise in the boot. What a beautiful gift, well done Throttle team.

I love series like this, genuine people getting the help they need! If you guys ever need a spare set of hands to spin spanners for any project like this, I'm more than happy to help out if I can.

I'd take this over the usual supercar churn channels every day of the week. You're ten times the humans they are. God bless you, lads.
