Really need to check the pressure tank and make sure it is not waterlogged if it makes the pump knock on and off a lot It will burn that box up as well as the pump. There should be 2 pounds less air in the tank than whatever the knock on is. So that there is proper draw down between pump cycles. If there is a 40/60 pressure swhich, there should be 38 pounds of air in the tank.If it is a 30/50 pressure switch there should be 28 pounds of air in tank. To properly check the air in the bladder of the tank, you should cut the power off to the pressure switch. Drain all water off the system. Then check the air in the tank. If it will not hold the air that means the bladder is busted inside the tank and needs to be replaced. It truly is the life of your pump system.

I’m an old well service tech, make sure to check the tank to make sure the tank isn’t water logged. The tank itself should NOT be full of water. Make sure it has air in the tank. If the pressure switch is an operation from 30-50 psi, set the pressure in the tank at 28psi. If it’s a 40-60 switch, set the tank pressure at 38psi.
@joshbrown779
@joshbrown779 13 күн бұрын
I had this same thought. It sounded like the pressure switch kicked the pump on too soon after it shut off in that clip. If that pressure tank isn’t working right it will wear out your pump faster.

@@joshbrown779 absolutely it will. I’ve lost count on how many calls I went to and had to replace a pump cause the tank was so old and leaking internally and that it took out the pump. For us a tank replacement on that size tank is was about $1000 but people would put it off and ended up costing them like $3500 for pump, tank and service call, if we didn’t have to replace anything else.

you do not want to seal that roofline, its got a gap to let out humid air, otherwise everything in there will rot including the wood studs. instead use wire mesh to keep the critters out, and make sure the trees around it are cut back. you can seal the bottom edges tho, no problem there

I would recommend mounting the control box on a wall and then extending the wires from the pump and the pressure switch hooked up to it via twist lock Outlet so if the pump ever has to be replaced you can just unplug the pump from the control box plus I would also replace the tank too@@Taylordrifts

Your well pump shouldn't come back on that fast. You should check the air pressure in the tank. It seems like your well tank isnt doing anything and you probably need a new one, makes a huge difference

Yep, I was logging in to say the same thing. My only water source is a well system now and I've been through several issues with mine. The first was a blown capacitor (several times), I finally replaced the full control box and pressure tank when the new capacitor only lasted 1 month. Then a year later the pump gave out and I had to have it professionally pulled and replaced due to our solid PVC pipe run down the well. All in all, I've found the pressure tank should be checked about once a year while the system is not pressurized and it should be about 5 pounds lower than the low side of your pressure switch.

From a fellow Floridian. Get some metal wire mesh the small square style I like best. Screw/staple it over the big openings in the eves of the well house then exterior grade expand foam over it. It's two fold. One it gives the foam something to hold against and two it's another barrier for the rodents. I would leave some type of vent in the well house to help prevent mold by letting it air out. Might want to bite the bullet and get some bait stations and put them in the well house also

To insure excellent starting every time, you need to add a fuel shut off valve. Shut off the valve and run it out of gas after every use. There will be no gas sitting in the carb to turn to varnish. Even during long storage. I also add Sta-bil to my gas cans for my gas to stay fresher longer.
@Doubie.
@Doubie. 13 күн бұрын
Yes and no most American fuel has no cleaners in it and is distilled post crack so it’s an unstable mixture causing higher evaporation so adding a cleaner like seafoam and something like stabil or Startron is a good idea but even if you add a valve your only isolating the tank to a open line the carb will still evaporate regardless of weather your running it dry your still going to leave deposits the amount just varies plus now you have fun reactions with water especially in high humidity areas your always just better off using proper additives and storage Also a bunch of different blends used by crappy low cost fuel supplies have crap additives that destroy those valves witch is why they all say not for fuel in the molding

@@Doubie. I know that you know what you know from your own experience. But I also live in the south like Taylor. I had to replace the carb and whole fuel system in 2014 because the previous owner (family member) of my riding mower left gas in it for over a year. It was one of those "if you can fix it, you can have it". Since owning any mower, I run it out of gas after every use and use Sta-bil for gas I keep in my shed between mowing. I sometimes don't need to mow for up to 4 months. Then when I start my mower, I don't even need to use the choke; it starts right up! I haven't touched my carbs since 2014 except for minor adjustments. Usually I dump any "old" gasoline in my vehicles. I get my gas from only places I know have good gas and usually get 3 to 5 gallons at a time so it takes longer to go bad. I keep my oil and filters fresh. And I service my deck, belt and blades, when they are needed. So I am talking from my own experience.
@armelind
@armelind 13 күн бұрын
@@philbert006 That's long enough that over a year, build up can accumulate and cause hard starting. And if you store less than a gallon in a hot shed in the south, it can go bad very quick.

I don’t know if it’s the same in Florida, but around me, you can fill paint buckets with sand, and once it dries, you can throw them in the normal trash

you might want to check with the city or local trash pick up to find the best way to rid the paint and chemicals, it would be classified as hazardous materials

Toss the little jugs 1 at a time in the trash. Paint well mix it all together and use it as a base before painting or if you dont care it always becomes a neutral the more there is.

Hey Tayor the capacitor is more than likely burned out from the on and off. Also just put wire mesh up around the outside roof and then spray the foam Amazon has traps that have poison in them you just need one they eat the bait end go die someplace and that clears them out get the bigger box and put it along the wall and do not store any paper or paper they love to make nests. love your show You and I have the same love for anything that goes fast and love to make myself and I am a neat freak. Also when you tell people to like and subscribe, tell them to also share makes a big difference that is how I got your link Peace brother.

I live up in the pnw and I’d assume the wells down south are the same, but the huge gaps in the room of the pump house might be for “easy” removal. Just recently had to replace the pump on our well and the well pipe was in 20 foot sticks so the roof had to come off our pump house to do it.

Put a skylight above the pump. I work at fish hatchery that uses a lot of large pumps and we do that with all of them for maintenance reasons. Gives us free light in the pump houses too.

Mix the paint with cat litter and let it turn to solid waste or find a chemical recycler. Keep up the content, I always look forward to it. Excited about the Mazda build.

Getting things done is so rewarding. It will be interesting to see how the lights work over time, but they certainly get the job done.👌 You might want to get a bigger pressure tank for the well, for it not to cycle as often; however, you need to know the flow rate of the well (not the pump), so it can support the volume of water you intend to use to prevent damage to your well pump.🤙

Rats are surprisingly good climbers. If you want to really keep them out, clear all the branches and whatnot around the roof and top of the pump shed. and put a metal sill plate on the bottom of that door. Lastly, keep organic material out (cardboard boxes are loved by rats/mice for nesting).

Yah, unless the holes are small, rats can get thru chicken wire. I've always used hardware cloth, because it's impermeable by rodentia, lol.

@@dawnlarsen3174 That's why I mentioned filling it with anti-rodent expansion foam afterwards. I've watched many a rodent try and literally back away from that foam (its a little more expensive, but worth it in the right situation).

Ethenaol content in pump gas is why our lawn equipment, pressure washer, have issues. Every time I put pump gas into my equipment, I add Lucas fuel treatment. No more issues.

If you have to pull that pump I would recommend unbolting or cutting the fasteners that hold the pump house to the slab and getting it out of the way. It will 100% be worth the time to take it off and put it back again

Taylor u may also need to check the air side of the pressure tank. That will make the pump cycle more than it should. Also u may get a lil bit more pressure to the system.
