Did you have to shim the radiator to align and come up through the hood? I ordered one by the seriel number and it does not come through the hood enough for the cap and is off center.
@mikep78102 жыл бұрын
I didn't have to shim this one when I put it back in. Did they mess up and send you the wrong one? I know the 3010 had an option for Diesel engines, LP engines, or Gas. I'm not sure if there were different radiators for the different engines

We have that SAME knocking sound problem with a 4010 and that drive has been worked on many times it must be a common problem. Also I noticed that your block heater coolant heater is mounted horizontally. I have mine mounted vertically on an Oliver tractor, do I have mine mounted the wrong way? Or maybe they work in any direction? I was never too impressed with the way mine works lol..
@mikep78105 жыл бұрын
Is it the same heater? Could be just a different heater and that's why they are mounted different. I know those bushings wear out and you start getting that knocking sound. I'm just glad I took care of it after hearing the knocking and not letting it go
@Adam_Poirier5 жыл бұрын
Yes you were smart to tackle that early.. we had damage to the splines. And yeah looks like the same heater lol I mounted mine a few years ago. I’m gonna try and find the instructions. The tractor looks good!
@mikep78105 жыл бұрын
Yeah my dad put that on years ago so the instructions are long gone lol

I just replaced the water pump and some associated parts on my JD 5320. Newer tractor so everything is compressed and squeezed in very little space. Sucks. Took 9 hours for what would be a 3 hour job on the fine 3010.

Thank you. Gotta love how everything is squeezed in tight places

I had a 2010 that I bought when I first bought my place . I wish I had known then what I know now . That thing was the biggest piece of junk . It was a loader tractor so it had been used and abused . You could hardly find parts for it .I learned a big lesson on that deal .

I guess my only complaint is not having a camera over your shoulder and you explaining each step of each repair. I come to KZbin not so much to be entertained but to learn how to take things apart, diagnose problems, fix 'em and reassemble. Some of the better vids out there on mechanical repairs are by a KZbinr who calls himself "ChrisFix." Check out his channel and you will see what I mean. Unfortunately Chris only works on cars and light trucks. I wish he'd do some tractor videos. My old 3010 gasser is right now getting a new clutch, tune-up, replacing the governor's gasket, and a buttload of hydraulic leaks fixed. She really needs a good steam bath and power wash.
@mikep78105 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry you had complaints on the video. I mount my camera where ever I can so it can't always be right over my shoulder. I try to stop and explain when I can. Little things like taking off the nut that holds the hood or tightening the clamp that holds the radiator hose I pass over but when I find things like the missing bolt on the driveline I stop and show. I'm sure I could explain more. Good luck on your 3010
