Absolute joy to watch a young engineer with a passion for these machines. The insight you gain will only add to your engineering knowledge and allow you a better understanding of how many of the modern equivalents came to be. Such fundamental knowledge is so often the difference between a good engineer and a great one. I love your work, your clear communication style and all round the cut of your jib. Well done young man. That was great!!! Educational. I have cleaned the points in mags but you showed more how they work. Keep them coming.
@richceglinski75432 ай бұрын
Next time you fit a mag or distributor put your finger over the #1 plug hole and feel for compression while you turn it. That way you don't have it 180 out on tdc exhaust stroke. But you knew right away what the problem was. And there was no startling fluid involved like most of these you tube mechanics come lately Hats of to you for preserving this machinery.

how i did enjoy this video good for you. lest some watchers not understand, at international in those days, the operating temperature was "boil", and it says so on the data plate. please also remember, you can always check the position of the piston by removing the hand hole on the left side,likewise, by removing the rocker cover the position of the valves will tell you if number one is due to hit, those rockers do not oil themselves, squirt some in the fittings provided. enjoy that 10-20. with your good care i am sure it will last another hundred years.

What a super video! My dad always talked fondly about farmer he worked for back in the 40's who worked an f-20 the neighbor farmer would drive up in his 2n and they would argue half the day who had the better tractor. A happier time. God bless! from Pennsylvania

Very good, it's nice to see someone who appreciates the old tractors and equip and will spend the time to keep them running. The 10-20's were a good tractor and I have the bigger brothers to this, a 15-30, and a 22-36 in good shape. Good vid thx.

A good machinist can resurface the face of that rotor, I had an F 30 and the the rotor had a gouge like bump from the brushes it would cause it to back fire when starting then it be sitting there running so I took the rotor to a machine shop I know of a the machinist resurfaced it did a wonderful great job, I think he had to take off about .050 thousands to smooth the rotor out

Have you ever heard of going to a small airport where they deal with a lot of piston engines to get a magnet re-magnetized?

Don’t forget to put some oil on the rocker arms are not oiled from the engine you have to put it on the top of the roll cover if you don’t do that the valves will stick and you can burn to push rod. valves. hang up when the engine hot and when it cools may free up but you can damage the engine really easily!
