Fixing yellowing leaves on Monstera Deliciosa, unpotting, checking roots, changing soil 🪴🌿

All of a sudden the leaves on my monstera deliciosa started going yellow. Not the normal old leaf yellow, but more like a sign-that-something-needs-checking. The edges went yellow and immediately brown and crispy. And the main sign was when the newest leaf started getting that too even though it hadn't even hardened off yet. The soil also felt a bit clumpy so decided to go ahead and check the roots and change the soil.

They thrive better outside under shade honey, trust me they will take on lovely, my 3 i transferred outside in shade under a tree, they go crazy they’ll love it ❤❤❤

I think it's due to high temperature. I has similar issue every summer. I just chop the older leaves.

Why did you put that plant in a self watering pot? and the soil looks dense.

A local nursery owner advised to use the self potering pot for big size plants 🫤 soil was an aroid soil mix appropriate for monsteras but I guess the plant got overwatered multiple times and the self watering plant didn't help much...now I'm using it as a regular pot...I don't put water in the reservoir

@@CasualLeaves Never put monsteras in self water pots since they don't like to be wet. Whatever you are using still looks dense so get some course perlite, leca balls, coco chips, coco husk, or orchid mix and make it more fluffy. Biochar and worm castings won't hurt either. Since you reused the pot, pour the water on the plant then dump the excess.

@@CasualLeaves Good, it is a lot of fun! Just make sure the soil is fluffy and nutritious since I heard these plants are heavy feeders and don't like sitting in water.
