You looked so cute, I really love how you did your hair. If you're going to own more ops or brown jsks, I'd consider getting a brown blouse and shoes for this coordinate cus that way it makes sense having them on your wardrobe. Also a straw cross bag with some daisy pins or flower decor to match the hat idea Lor mentioned would be really cute.

Fun (?) fact: In some countries sewing classes are mandatory. Including the one I live in. Nowadays girls and guys can both choose between carpentry or handicrafts (sewing, knitting, etc), but taking one or the other is mandatory. Aaaand I did not enjoy my sewing classes.

Id recommend rhinestoning that amazon dress! I feel like being a drag queen lolita is a perfect opportunity to go full OTT. Either jet black or ruby red stones would look great. Id also say if it's possible to remove the ribbons, take them out and replace them with better quality ribbons? Might help make the dress look less cheap

You are so lucky. The one and only sewing class I had was in Home Economics in Junior High School grades 7 and 8. My favourite ways to coordinate skirts are: skirt + cutsew (some of them have a print on the chest to fill in the space) skirt + top + jacket skirt + top + cardigan Since the skirt is AP, it is best to look into AP cutsews, they are great.

Thank you for picking my coord! I definitely needed a more experienced lolita's eye and since I hadn't seen many skirts in fixing coordinates series I wanted to submit mine. Am currently on the hunt for new cardigan/bolero/cutsew. Will definitely try that denim idea too! I know that vest was a bad decision. I was trying to play with the green leaves on the skirt (vest was green but really dark) but didn't really work how I imagined it might. (queue "wwon wwon" sound)

i went to an arts middle/high school and focused in fashion/costume design all 4 years!! i also wore lolita to the same school in 7th grade... I’m still embarrassed to this day because it was a bodyline dress with no petti, but to my credit it was the best bodyline dress available and i went around telling everyone that the outfit would be better if i had a petti (i was self aware at the very least) edit: lor, you were one of the people that introduced me to the fashion way back in 7th grade - i’ve been subscribed since 2013 and i’m so happy this channel has kept going so strong all these years (and that my interest in lolita wasn’t just a short phase)

Leanne, I think that one of these two BB and B necklaces would fit your coord perfectly. They are pink macarons with rose accents, and long enough to hit your lower chest. It depends on whether you want the more red heart macaron one or the more purely pink, slightly larger one. bbandb.net/shop/the-charming-heart-cake-necklace-893.html bbandb.net/shop/pastel-pink-over-the-top-macaron-paerl-charm-necklace-gold-plated-chain-114.html

I have a question to anyone knowledgeable in Lolita.. I'm just an admirer of the fashion and of Lor so I dont really know "what's what". Why is that black amazon dress so bad.. I just see a black dress and in the photos the person wearing It I thought looked great like Lor said so I'm just really curious to hear what people involved in the fashion would say.. I love to sew and make my own clothing so I'm just very curious.. Is it the fabric , the cut, details or what exactly that makes it not a nice Lolita dress. K thanks to anyone who just read my novel of a comment sorry. Lol 😂🤦♀️🤷♀️
@jadefenner49714 жыл бұрын
kari D. It’s mostly just visibly low quality fabric, and there isn’t the ‘true Lolita brand’ attention to detail in any of the small details of the dress. The ribbon particularly is pretty cheap and nasty. The cut and general idea of the dress actually worked quite well, which is why it looked so good in a club setting (low light) where the details were less visible.

The Reason main pieces from generual multiseller shops like Amazon, AliExpress, and Wish are hated is because almost every dress you will see is a replica. For some communities, people don't care about replica's as much, but for lolita replica's are hated by most people for a number of reason. As mentioned previously, the quality absolutely sucks in replia's as they are mass produced and cheaper and some lolita's argue that part of lolita is about the quality. Next, replica's are hated because they take money from companies that are small enough to begin with. Even though it may seem that even the bigger brands of Lolita like AP, Mary Magdalene (which is where most of the replica's come from actually), metamorphose, ect, are money Giants they really aren't. Lolita is small even in Japan so these companies therefore are also really small even with their popularity. On a moral level, taking money from a small company is considered wrong, especially when it's something that is known for the artistic originality, such as the original prints that brands work to produce. Some people argue that they buy replica's because they are cheaper and they don't have the budget to buy a $100 dress, but this can also be easily debunked. There are many smaller brands like Bodyline and Diamond Honey that have cheaper dresses that are of decent quality and are not blatant rip offs. Trust me, everyone can tell when you're wearing a crappy replica. My apologies for how long this was. I hope that this helped

I am not a lolita, but I live in skirts! If it's warm enough, a blouse that is well decorated on the front works perfectly. For ex my blouse here has ruffles going from the neck down to the waistline: fav.me/ddunzaa If it's a little chilly, you can wear a white long sleeved top underneath. I keep blouses that are plain on the front but have interesting collars/necklines for my jumper dresses. ex: fav.me/ddn3ciu two more examples or decorated blouses that won't make your top part feel bare: fav.me/ddo53br & fav.me/ddqk0bp (yes these aremy sewing projects ^^)

I've been doing cosplay for almost 15 years and I don't want to mix up lolita cosplay with lolita style :(
@owlislike4 жыл бұрын
Starting out can be overwhelming since there are many many styles of Lolita. I suggest making a Pinterest board and seeing if there is any particular style that you are gravitating to and allow yourself to explore and be creative. Don't get bogged down by labels either, it's fashion! You should wear what makes you happy! As far as referencing styling, take a look at this article www.tsunagujapan.com/11-lolita-brands-you-should-check-out-in-japan/. I use the top "brands" as a styling guide more than anything else and then sew my own pieces. By that I mean using their fashion spreads as a guide for shape and balance in ensembles, not direct copying.
