i feel like i know what to do except for how to go about using layers. no artist ever explains what layer to do what things on. like do you paint shadows on the same layer? how many layers should you use? nobody ever talks about it and it's my biggest struggle

it really just depends on your preference, personally i use 3-4 layers (as little as possible tbh). people use it for organization, to play safe, etc. feel free to experiment :] but don't use too much lmaoo that shit a headache
