Thanks for taking time time to make this video. I panicked for a second when I put the new fuel pump in before I realized it compresses on springs. I also had to put the new gasket in the tank first and then set the pump into the gasket, and I had to use the original retaining ring, as the new one I couldn't get started while pushing down on the pump. I put a little bit in your PayPal, because you saved me some time knowing which bolts I needed to remove to get the seats out!

Great vid. Before beginning, I would open the gas cap to release some air pressure. Should lessen the amount of fuel coming out of the hoses.

Is the small fuel line the output to the engine and the large one the input for fueling? I have to get old gas out of a civic that's been sitting for a while and might hook up a hose to the smaller right one and use the pump to empty it

The most obvious would be a whine sound when you turn the key to on, without actually turning on the car

Okay so the top of the fuel pump the peice you used a flathead and a hammer wont come off is it a possibility I'm doing something wrong ?pretty sure I'm going the right way on a 2012 civic

Perform a Valve Adjustment. My Civic is also losing power. This is the 2nd option if a Valve Adjustment doesn't fix it.

Do you need to replace the whole assembly or just the pump?

You can do either or, depending on the issue you are having. If it’s the pump that is the issue, just replace the pump. If it’s something like the fuel sending unit, then you’ll need to replace the whole housing

Alex M it would be smart to in order to avoid fuel coming out of the line when you disconnect it at the pump. Simply pull the ignition fuse and crank the car over to relieve the pressure 👍🏼

My mpg went all the way down to 19-22 mpg after replacing my fuel pump. Used to get 27-29. 2007 Civic lx 1.8. Used OEM Delphi brand

Make your life easy AutoZone lends a special tool to remove the big plastic nut. Mine was too brittle to use a screw driver, it was breaking.

It’s insane the assembly it’s self here’s a part number I found 17048-SNA-A01. fuel set filter is what it is called. I’m not sure how to take it apart tho bc there are not many vids

The 2015 model should be easier , just remove the rear seat and the 4 bolts that hold the metal shield cover.
