Some pc are ultra powerful but they have a wrong name" gaming pc" which is false because if it was, the number of bug will be next to zero in pc... But it still worse. Actually there is one thing that made the game even buggier: a ultra powerful pc. Yes the game is more stable because the power can even more handle it but the game itself need to keep up to ridiculous height making it in final less stable.

@@clapointe151 You're speaking from a position of obvious ignorance. A game is nothing more than code transferred into visuals, that is what a PC does all the time. The "bugs" as you put it are nothing to do with it being on a PC or a console, a bug is an oversight by the developers which causes problems in game. That's why you can patch bugs. By the way, I don't give a fuck how you play games. It doesn't matter that system, console, whatever, they all work fine. A more powerful PC will not have problems running this game than a normal PC, I have no idea where you got that opinion from. I suppose if you're referring to games that were released before modern technology existed you would have a point, but Odyssey was released a few years ago, it can be handled on absolutely any form of modern technology. There is absolutely no such thing as a GPU or CPU being "too powerful" for a game. That is simply nonsense. The game is just producing code to the GPU, the faster the GPU and CPU the quicker the game will run with smoother FPS, the GPU can't possibly be too fast for the actual software. This issue is so specific to Ubisoft, it's ridiculous. I can guarantee you 100% that both GTA V runs better than every single Ubisoft game, and Red Dead Redemption 2, which is far better looking than Odyssey will also run 100 times smoother. Ubisoft are absolutely trash at programming their games, they never put any effort into optimising for PC use. They have on record stated their distaste for the PC market, I have no doubt in my mind they purposely go out of their way to avoid optimising for PC. Just because Ubisoft are a terrible company and a trash triple AAA developer doesn't mean an entire format for playing video games is "inferior." Especially since it's easily documented that the PC platform is technologically superior. Small fact. My PC can run all modern age games, Assassin Creed Black Flag still in 2019 runs into lag spikes. That is poor game design.

In my opinion, I honestly wish Ubisoft would make their own RPG framchise, and develop it seperately from AC. They could have some RPG elements in AC. I just wish I could still get that Assassins Creed feeling I got when playing games like AC Brotherhood, AC 3, AC Unity.

Ok here’s the real deal- Origins will go down as one of my favorite games of all time probably, up there with AC2. It felt so fresh and polished, with a huge yet dense world where you actually felt immersed down in the world with each step. Every location was mysterious or interesting. And the amazing story felt like a journey across that world with a great main character and good side characters. Tons of content that revolved around solid gameplay and kept you coming back. Love and passion was poured into Origins by that team just like Black Flag. And that is why I love them both so much. Odyssey feels like to Origins what Rogue felt felt like to Black Flag. A complete and utter cash grab using a system that worked really well before (although they all have good stories). But The same care and passion wasn’t poured into these two games that was the ones that came before them. And that’s because they knew people would buy it. And they both suffer some because of it. It does feel so hollow at times, but the game has a solid gameplay loop and if you’re a certain type of player that likes the min/maxing of damage to find the perfect combination or grinding gear gameplay loop, (think Diablo and Warframe) then you’ll like the game more and it will feel less like a chore. You can play it for as little or as long as you want, depending on your own current goal. Just want to clear a fort to capture that one high rank dude for your crew? 15 minutes, done. And you got some gear along the way to either use, scrap, or sell. Want just a little 1 hour play sesh of a game? Sail around sinking ships, you’ll be gathering loot to upgrade later. It gives you the choice of how much or little you feel like doing at a certain time, just like Diablo and Warframe. For that I can give it a 7/10. Edit- and that’s completely neglecting to talk about whether it should be called an AC game or not. (It should.)

As I said, it might be generic at its core but it's actually a VERY unique product in the market. When you left the movies after watching 300 you probably (as a gamer) wanted to play something that gave you the feeling of being in that universe and Odyssey is literally the only action game (probably ever) that delivers it. That's why Mad Max is one of the most generic repetitive games of this generation while also being the only game that makes you feel like you're in the movie because they nailed the atmosphere and world building.

I didn't even finish the game. I finished the main family storyline, but the atlantis and cult stories I didn't finish. After grinding and playing through the game, after 60 hours, I was only level 45 when I stopped. I'd done most of the forts, all but the level 50 cultists (there are many of them though), and 3 of the 4 mythical monsters. I realized it would take me days to grind to level 48 so I could do the level 50 content, then remembered red dead redemption 2 was coming out, and said fuck it. I'm replaying the first red dead until then. The fact that 2 of the main stories are level gated at max level and the grinding is insane, you level so slowly, just to encourage getting xp boosters, this killed the franchise for me. It's death began with origins, and has finally been buried with odyssey. I'm so sad, since this was once my favorite franchise in the world. Everyone has one franchise that they're just super fans of, for some it's star trek, other star wars, some it's lord of the rings, or transformers, or some superhero. Me, it was assassin's creed. Now it's dead. Good job guys. The game Itself wasn't bad, the gameplay, graphics, etc. But that level gate was enough to cripple it. I'd wait til it goes on sale if you've yet to buy it.

This game is lacking in the historical and assassin’s connections they used to build upon in prior games. They used the fuck it bucket and said, who cares about history and being a cool assassin? Let’s make a demigod game. I felt a bit disappointed, because the atmosphere I felt in terms of historical immersion with the first 2 AC games, as well as Origins was just abandoned in this game. This game becomes absurd sometimes, and it pissed me off the missed potential. Greece is a beautiful place, and it was missed upon extremely in my opinion. I wish in something like 10 years they come back to Greece with something else in better story quality.

I feel like the gameplay is good apart from enemies and even boats being a damage sponge, what i think they should do for the next AC game is add a linear story option like the old AC games with less need for side quests/leveling to go through the main story, no dialogue options, historically accurate like not being able to kill innocents and other stuff, and a non linear story option like odyssey, better lipsync, facial animations, character emotions, less hp on enemies and focusing more on actual assassins creed lore

In my opinion, Odyssey may not be the best AC game but overall it blew my expectations, the story really relates to the assassins and Templar conflict from a different point of view and going in I didn’t expect that much but as you play it, it’s an amazing game and a step in the right direction for the story of Assasin’s Creed in general.
@Bms0106 жыл бұрын
How is a right step for the story of Assassins Creed? They basically pulled a story out of their ass to include choices and give the player a gender option. Even then the choices didn't really do anything but decide do I kill my sibling and family or not in the end. Then said you know what let's not make the main antogoinsts seem compelling at all and just let the player kill then while repeating the same "you deserve worse or malakah" each time. A right direction would've been if they let you play as Darius considering he actually is in the already established lore and influenced the Creed in some way. The only step up was modern day and even that didn't do much.
@TheEntorm6 жыл бұрын
Bms010 0 you have to remember the two part transaction into and rpg, the first part was origins and the second one is odyssey, many people forget they are planting the seeds to expand the franchise beyond the conflict of the assassins and Templar’s which is why in origins they showed the order of the ancients (the first Templar’s) and the hidden ones (the first brotherhood of assassin’s). This is why in Odyssey they are focusing on the first civilization in hopes of them playing major roles in future games, not only that I’m pretty sure Ubisoft isn’t just making stories for no reason like any other major video game franchise it is meant to be connected an different course odyssey isn’t the best assassin’s creed but it may just lead to one 👍🏻

IBeJamz Even though I disagree with your opinion of the the Ezio trilogy I do however agree with the fact that Alexios is a new and original character of assassin’s creed due to the fact that nearly every assassin’s creed protagonist has either lost a parent or another family member unlike Alexios who has been abandoned by his family and then finds them and has a happy ending. 👍🏻

The Entorm I agree with you on most of your points but look up the ten commandments set by the original developers of the Assassins Creed series and you'll understand that by moving away from the Assassins vs Templar conflict is horrible. For one that's the basis for the game and if this game was to move away from that conflict the game would basically be like the new Halo games and I think we all know what happened with that. We could also look a Fallout 76 which is online only mmo rpg. Which has major Fallout fans not willing to buy it a d protest it. My point is it will ruin the series cause alotta people to lose interest and start to stop buying the games. I mean hell people are already doing that. Odyessy is already losing alot of AC fans.

There are still plenty of terrible side quests. E.g. Please deliver this very important message / item as it’s dangerous or time consuming. And the recipient is literally 150m away. Or “save my husband who’s been taken because we can’t pay a bill” and upon rescuing said person the quest giver coughs up loads of money and gems which they apparently didn’t have because remember why you did what you just did? There’s some good ones but a lot of them are really sloppy.

My problem was the pacing and over saturation with content. A surplus of content is good, but I felt overwhelmed to where I was taken out of the immersion, whereas Origins gave a calm and ancient atmosphere that was immersive, and you felt you were within the time period, and Egypt itself. Odyssey lacks the immersion and atmosphere, it is much too wacky. The history is lacking as well in my opinion, which is natural being a decision based RPG. How do you balance player decision making with a historical/ science fiction franchise? You really don’t, Odyssey is something different. My mistake was going into this as an assassin, rather than a demigod, in which that would’ve helped envision the experience. Although, demigods should strike down bandits and anorexic soldiers in one strike...

Althougt i'm not really looking forward to doing it again with Kassandra. (im planning on replaying it as kassandra) The combat can be amazing and i can feel like a god. But man.. I play this on Nightmare mode from start, and it just feels broken? Sometimes an regular enemy can take 500 hits, sometimes only 3. Its weird.. I feel like its RNG damage sometimes. For example: I had this bounty hunter with an jaguar, i INSTANT stealth killed her, then died to her jaguar in 3 hits, he even managed to set me on fire.. (like wtf?) Then when i tried to one hit her again, it just didnt do it. Only around 40% of her health, then i died another time, and i did 70% stealth damage.. Naval exploration is amazing imo, Fuck the combat tho. FUCK THE COMBAT Good review Fizhy! And you're right, the landscapes and towns are BEAUTIFUL.

Man, Black Flag is actually one of my favourite game too (and that one wasn't that focused on the Templar/Assassin's conflict;) ). AC2, Black Flag and Odyssey are my favourite ones. As for Origins, I found the characters not likable (like in AC3 in fact), I hated Aya, I didn't hated Bayek, but I didn't loved him.. I just can`t relate to him the way the game presented him. I can't say the name of a great side character too. And the end game, man the end game of Origins is simply rushed and bad (the Caesar plot).
@lapin24716 жыл бұрын
Black Flag is now considered of the best game in the series too, but I remember, in that time, people was saying it was bad since it wasn't focused enough on the brotherhood (like Odyssey lol). Time will say if Odyssey will get the same treatment.

You can like it, I can't change this ahah. I just say my opinion! But I agree on AC4 as one of the best too! But I disagree on AC Odyssey being a bad AC game. What I like on Assassin's Creed is the mythologic part with fragments of Eden and there is a LOT of fragments in Odyssey. In fact, I think it is more an AC game than Origins (the Assassins were only there in the end cinematic and the DLC if we think of it).

I just finished the game (80h + 100%) and of for me, it's the best since AC2. One of the 3 was kind of a let down for me (don't want to spoil). I hope the expansions will fix this. What about you @bbane6995 ?

Yep the damage sponge ennemies are the game s biggest problem, the way i found to solve it is to add a lot of crit damage to your equipment and use the spear that double your damage, with it and you can one shot ennemies like mercenaries or captain with assassin abilities. The only downside : its only doable at the highest level when you ve basically become a demigod

For me the side quests in origins and odyssey helped me to connect more to the protagonists. Yes some side quests are repetitive but that is mostly on lvl 40-50. I also think this is a great RPG with a lot of content. I reached lvl 50 earlier this week but I am still not done with the cultists or the family storyline. And because I play on nightmare mode my enemies are always strong and can kill you with 1-2 strikes. In some extend i agree that the storyline is a bit messy, but that is because i try to do everything at once. Anyway I like the story here better than lets say Skyrim. I also like that NPC:s mention your deeds throughout the game. It really makes you feel like a hero. What I do miss from earlier AC games Bring back social stealth and the ability to build your own house or village. I loved that part with Montirrigioni in AC II. It would also give me something to spend my 500 000 drachme on. And a love story. Yes we can have romance options, but Ezio had Caterina, that girl from florence and Sophia. I would like love story for Bayek and Kassandra/alexio as well. Finally, I think this is an assassins creed game. It has stealth, parkour, ISU, animus and although templars or assassins aint mentioned they are there. But both Alexios/Kassandra and Edward Kenway stumble into this world. For next game I hope we continue with something Bayek related. I would like a game set in the julio-claudian dynasty. Perhaps during the reign of Caligula? Then we can learn about the assassins cell in Rome. Cheers

I noticed that your targets would automatically level with you and the main quests would jump levels and one of the stupid things is that dead cultists would level up after you killed them or took care of them and there's a level 49 cultist that becomes level 46 once you do the related quests and sometimes there are enemies that are a higher level than the area they are in like for example The freaking Minotaur is level 40 exceeding the average level range of the island

@Mwothyman4 жыл бұрын
Pretty much. Odyessey was there to establish the bad guys. It would make sense for a spartan trained warrior to not slip around the area like a snake. I think if they had majorly different playstyles with Alexios and Kassandra and marketed it as that. Like, we're trying something different. If you like the OG Assassin creed, go with Alexios. If you want to spice it up go with Kassandra. I actually wish the whole "The main characters are related to Leonidas" was a bigger part of the story and well thought out more.
@flightlesslumen23174 жыл бұрын
The cult of cosmos has nothing to do with the templars and the only link to the templars/order of the ancients in this game is in the first blade dlc...and it's not even their beginning either as the order was created by the pharaoh smenkhkare over 900 years before odyssey, information which you can find in his respective tomb if you play origins. This game just exists and that's all.

I just got through playing this myself, and I agree with a good chunk of what you said, especially about the gameplay and exploration. I will say that I enjoyed most of story, and the aesthetic issues were resolved (you can put skins on all your gear, provided you already had the desired weapon at some point). On the subject of the story, I think it was an interesting angle. Hear me out; even though Kassandra wasn't an assassin herself (which makes sense considering her words at the end), she still held a piece of Eden, which would be of interest to both sides. We can't expect all the pieces to always and up in Assassin or Templar hands. Even in Origins, when Bayek found an apple, he just handed it off like "I don't know what the fuck this is, here". So while it drags the big picture a little, and I wouldn't recommend they do it again (or at least not for a while) I think it was a nice touch. What I want to address as an issue to me is the DLC with Darius. A lot of fans are saying that *that* should have been a full game and not Odyssey, and I half agree. I would have like a full game in ancient Persia, but I still like Odessey and the DLC, and I think having both games with the DLC as a bridge, would have been nice. All that said, I'm not an gaming expert, I only really play a handful of games, Assassin's Creed being one of them. I'm here for a fun time and a good story.

The 1 thing that could make the AC branding make more sense for Odyssey is the upcoming DLC about the First Hidden Blade or whatever it was called. I’m not 100% opposed to the changes that have been made to the AC series but I miss stealth being the actual focus of the game. I think Unity had it right (to fit my preferences.) Individual gear items that augmented the effectiveness of certain approaches sounds the most appealing to me and, honestly, I’m sick and damn tired of sneaking up behind someone and shanking them in the neck...only for them to not die and, other than the decrease in their current health, they haven’t been impeded. I could see not being able to one-hit-kill certain enemies due to different gear (suits of plate armor not being able to be penetrated by a hidden blade) or individual traits like in the Nemesis system from Shadow of War (“Paranoid: Can’t be stealth killed, etc.”) which would prod you to change your approach to fit the individual target and be creative with your kills. Or, at the very least, if you shank someone in the neck and, if it doesn’t do enough damage to kill them outright, you have a percentage chance to make them bleed out and various speeds or poison them allowing you to run and hide while they slowly die. To balance that out, give the enemies access to medical attention or antidotes that would stabilize their bleeding and/or neutralize the poison if they get attended to within a certain amount of time. I’m just tired of all the enemies being either the same battle pattern, the same assassination-damage dealing leading into the same battle pattern, or just an outright assassination.

I would comment more about the narrative of this game but I'm only about 30 hours in, but in my opinion it's the same stealth mechanics the Assassins Creed games has used since the beginning but with an added sense of depth and tactical analysis. But Ubisoft has this powerful ability to take an interesting world and do nothing with it narratively so I'd personally like an interconnected Ubisoft universe at some point where each story somehow connects and then plays off each other, idk probably just reaching for straws at this point.

Origins (and potentially odyssey) have completely forgone the social stealth from the earlier games, based on the fact that the default state of movement is running instead of walki ng g now and that I completed the only tailing mission I found in origins by literally walking next to the target. Social stealth was one of the main pillars of AC since the start and it seems to have gone in recent times

Is this game an assassins’creed ? IMO, it is. Yes, there are no proper « assassins » or templars, and so is the case in origin until the ending. The modern day and ISU parts make this game an AC as much as the next one. I like the fact that the franchise is becoming a universe rather than just a « checklist » with hidden blades, assassins and templar. Just look at STAR WARS, a game, a movie or a book in the star wars universe but without jedis, siths and lightsabers shouldn’t be called star wars ? Even tho it is set in the exact same universe ? Thinking « Universe » instead of checklist also leave space for more creativity, it would have been kind of sad to not experience the peloponesian war just because it happens prior to the creation of the brotherhood or the templars

You just saved me 60€ mate, cheers! Honestly, it seems like they tried to force an Isu story out of it just to have a connection with the franchise. Cassandra's/Alexios' words at the end came out of nowhere. Both order and chaos/freedom need to exist, both Assassins and Templars. Eeeeh, no. It was established at the first game and hinted at AC3 that both groups strive for the same thing, peace. Assassins choose the path of free will and democracy to prevent conflict and struggle when Templars choose control and a ruled, obeying society. One is freedom and the other a dictatorship. Clearly the latter needs to be stopped. It tried to be philosophical but it fell on its head because that's not what the game shows through the years. The Templars are wrong in their approach, end of discussion. Great Review btw 😝😝

Don’t care at all for the modern day story line, they should have it at the beginning of every game to tie things together and nothing more. I do agree with the comments about how the upgrading system drags and takes way to long to just upgrade one piece of gear. Also agree on how the gear esthetic isn’t that great (like other games) and that it shouldn’t play to much of a big part on stats, so we can easily choose our own look. The enemies are damage sponges and its kinda annoying. I really really like the option of playing as male or female, so they should keep it coming. Im glad that unlike other reviewers you didn’t rant about the length of the game witch isn’t really that bad. Some reviewers are just cranky cause they couldn’t get their reviews out fast. This review feels just right! 👏🏽👌🏽👍🏽.

I have to say odyssey was my first AC game and it opened me up to try more, and looking back it’s like weed vs. crack. The first one I tried was great, but the rest is so much better

This was an exquisite review Fizhy :) I don't see anything wrong with this review at all. It was fair and balanced imo. You've really improved your content steadily over time. You need that checkmark by your name for sure. Keep it up, man. Cheers.

They worry whether or not the game will be popular if they named it only "Odyssey". So... in order to, you know... they put "Assassin's Creed" in front of it.

it gets a 3/10 for me personally if it was a game that had nothing to do with assassins creed id give a 6/10

These new Assasin's Creeds after Origins are reminding me those Lord Of The Rings: Shadow of Mordor/War gameplay-wise. Personally miss those horeographic Assassin's Creed 3 combat cinematic animations.

Man I hated the leveling system. I didnt finish the game in because of it... I had to do 5 side quests missions in a way to level up so i can beat a storyline mission. In one point I forgot why was I doing in this area, I forgot what the story was all about... the Level system is the worst thing UBISOFT have ever done... the sidequests were alright some of them cool, but I felt forced to play them and it was exhausting!!!

the developers just took what worked with odyssey and cranked it up and the bad bits were slightly improved. they tried something new and somehow it worked so they thought by cranking it up a notch it would work even better. i just hope we have a ac game in the next game.

i highly agree with the damage sponge thing, especially when im fighting 1 merc and some idiot civilian gets in the way and i hit them, then all the other civilians start attacking you so you kill them to get them to stop, then you go from 1 merc to 4 mercs, 5 soldiers, and 12 citizens all attacking you and all of them except the civilians are damage sponges....

Nice review Fizhy! I still personally can't justify buying Odyssey, and if this is a glimpse of the future of the franchise then I guess I'm done with it

gonna be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of side quests; they just few like the game is dragging things on. Still, I really loved that a good portion of side quests hit the "fuck it" and decided to go for humor. If I really have to do these missions just to get enough level for the main missions, at least they made me laugh

The one thing I hated in Black Flag was the naval combat. I thought this game did so many things right with the naval combat. But, I can see where you're coming at.

Odyssey may just be a distraction or mockery like syndicate to origins. And odyssey to........ (Japan???)

Spoiler alert: I’m still dumbfounded they didn’t find a proper way to tie the story of odyssey into the events of origins. There’s so many obvious historical connections. The weakening of Athens and Sparta is definitely a factor in the rise of Macedonia. Hence Alexander conquers greece, then all the way from Greece to Egypt, to Persia. Why not tie this into the staff of eden that he apparently wielded. Or have him visit the Cult’s underground temple by the Oracle of Delphi’s home in a cutscene. This would tie in nicely to the story of Origins and perhaps tie into the birth of the Order of the Ancients, which remains completely unexplored. Why not find some way to incorporate the actions of Alexios/Kassandra into the canon of assassins. Especially since the spear of Leonidas looks like an assassin symbol, I completely expected it to form the first hidden blade or something. Instead it’s forgotten just to be found by Layla? That’s boring and does nothing to justify why we went this far back into the past except for the cool setting. There needs to be tangible story connections to the events of later games in order to justify this as an AC game and not a standard RPG. This was done in Black Flag which is why that was not just a regular pirate game. Ultimately it feels like a significant missed opportunity.

it looks like a reskin of origins. The horses, the birds, the graphics, hell, even the map markers
