First commute to the north campus in the new vehicle.. testing all the new things... a new dash cam, a new car, a new technology feature for me...
A raw file to youtube upload. Camera is definitely better than my old one... shoots 3840x2160 instead of 1080p. Seems to have acceptable low light capability. Mic is meh.. but I guess that is typical? I think I turned off the mic in my old one. Only issue thus far is that it rebooted when it gained a GPS lock finally after 30 minutes of driving? Anyhow, also has a rear camera. I only seem to have had a 32 gb SD card for the first run, and at least with defaults, that seems to be a complete to work and back commute (40 minutes + 80-90 minutes... yes my 27 mile commute in Miami varies anywhere from just about half an hour to almost 2, on average. This one was really short going in, but yeah, stop and go has been killing me with a manual transmission vehicle lately... and my car as well...).
But yeah, I'm not "driving" at all in this stretch... purely BlueCruise hands-free. For the express lane zero driver interaction required (I mean other than of course paying attention to the road and constantly freaking out a bit if the system will really work because I mean it was the first day even having it... it didnt activate in time for the trip home at all). For the earlier part a bit here and there... and a few times I decided to take over... mostly because I am not quite happy with the way it deals with stop and go traffic... it definitely wants to slam on the breaks most when cars do the typical Miami 90 mph to 0 in short order... which you can tell looking ahead, but if you let the car do it.. I am sure it will not hit the car in front, but with hard braking I am FAR FAR more worried about the car behind not being awake (since they always travel too close behind here in Miami, etc... I always buffer room in front of me for the rear car's issues). But yeah... otherwise a really cool thing.... never had adaptive cruise control, lane centering, autodrive features before.
