Such a pleasure to watch a master craftsman at work. Especially one who is resurrecting a wonderful older piano. The sound of this piano is just glorious.

Not the usual piano sound... clear, vulnerable, beautiful- it's a heartbreaker- one to make your audience cry...I actually love the Granados, and this is the instrument for it. I had a friend who had one of these, and so heard it live- I always say big grand pianos are like giant racehorses, but the Bluthner was a unicorn.

Great video & beautiful work. I love how you did your hitch pin loops. What was the piece of 90 deg metal you used? Also, no gloves to do your restringing? How do you keep your strings from going rusty? What about the alliquots? Did you dampen them at all? Love your work & your excellent video presentation.

I speak English.

The video itself it's a piece of art.The impression is that You made sound this instrument better than when it was new, it's incredible.How do you choose the right torque for the iron frame?It is just by common sense, by specifications or you adjust later by ear?

This is a fascinating video.Surely it's not a restoration though,because you've replaced the old strings with new ones.?My family has one of these old Bluthners ,(Imperial ,approx 1906)and it's quite dusty now,but the sound quality is because of its original strings isn't it?I'm quite sad because there's nobody to play our lovely piano now.But I'm not sure replacing the innards like this would preserve its beautiful sound.

Hello, I want to buy a piano but it does not appear, I know it's German, it's very old, I found two numbers, 5451 and 588, this piano is 3/4 seems to be Bluthner, the curious esque on the recordings has 2 strings, and In the middle and sharp has 3, does not have 4 as commonly has the bluthner, I do not see if he has the fourth clabijero and lacks the fourth string, unfortunately they painted it again, harp and outside and there is no distinguishing mark or model only the Numbers that I mention, its measurement is 238cm long, thank you very much

Did you use the old dampers?
@cecilsnyder
@cecilsnyder 7 жыл бұрын
I am curious to know why you apparently did not replace the tuning pins. Or damper felt. Was this in the interest of preserving what parts can be reused in an historic instrument? I doubt it was an issue of price, since the cost of labor must be the biggest factor in a restringing job. It seems like a remarkably well-preserved instrument, but how much torque was left on those tuning pins?

Do anyone can explain me why this cloth between the strings 2:36 ?
@1Aikiross
@1Aikiross 3 жыл бұрын
It is used to damp the part of the string (between bridge and iron frame) that is not supposed to sound. This short length of string could otherwise vibrate and produce disturbing sounds and beats.

Tolles Video!
