Triggering automation clips with patterns is something I never thought of. Nobody has ever mentioned that as a solution. Side note for launchpad users, if you group clips together in fl, you can trigger them simultaneously as long as you hold down one of the session buttons. I forget which cause I got the ableton launchpad, which has user 1 and user 2. It was a display model at guitar center so it was cheap xD

I'm very excited for this series. I wanted to see more videos on this from other people who use FL Studio and there really arent many. So, i'm curious to see what you come up with. Good job dude.

Long time FL Studio user. Just tried Session Veiw in Ableton and I'm switching. Performance mode is not the same and the workflow is much better for EDM. At least that is how I feel.

Just a question, can you record audio while doing Performance mode? Like if you have a microphone plugged into your interface, can that get a track in the playlist or should one just record that into edison?

I have a kontrol f1, it works in performance mode but i can't use it as a simple midi device (with the link to controller function), fl receives midi signal, but i can't link pads or knobs to anything. Any help?

Thanks for the tutorial, i would call it simple to get started, if you have no idea where to start. i could get the macro working fine with my akai fire. but when starting from an empty project i had nothing working. but it explains it from your video about the starting point i didnt find logic. I wonder why FL studio not are having it Akai fire template from the file menu. a lot of other hardware are supported, and different genre. It was also very informative to know about the limitation that one track only could be played at a time. i already thought of that from the demos i tried out. but didnt think it was limited in that way as Ableton could assign unique patterns for each button.

So i got a question. how would i be able to configure midi controllers that are not compatible with performance mode? i have the apc key 25 from forever ago and i was just trying to see how i can use it on there
@kazycnd2 жыл бұрын
Hi bro? U find something?
@brianrawks1232 жыл бұрын
@@kazycnd actuallu, I did. It's called Midi Translation. If you check my other channel Brian Farcasiu, it will show you what to do and provide a script you can use for that specific device. I haven't used it much since the newer updates, which allows you to add scripts for popular incompatible controllers. I would update FL, and check that out first

i'm pretty sure you were learning this stuff as you were making this video. And for that I say not bad. There isn't a whole lot of tutorials on the subject because performance mode is cool but not entirely useful

Hey Seamless, I have a Alesis VI61 MIDI Keyboard and on the side it has a 4x4 drum pad is there anything that I can do to turn it into a launch pad? I know when I play it it plays a key (D#3 -> C4) but is there any way at all? I've tried it in performance mode but I didn't expect it to work straight away so is there something I have to do like a MIDI channel or something?

Is there a way to map all of the pads to be 1-shot rather than marching? I want to finger drum, not be limited to queuing one sound at a time per row.

Yeah, right the track your sample is on and click one shot and on the trigger where it says 4 beats press off :)

Yes. Go to midi settings and set performance mode midi channel on 1. Then go to the keyboard symbol 'typing keyboard to piano keyboard', right click and select 'performance mode' from the big drop down menu.
