Extremely useful walk-through. Always had sort of a fear when accessing certain settings and this video definitely helped with that. I especially enjoyed the part where you can drag a sample into the browser to find out where it's located. That helps exponentially.

Hello, I have the problem that when I click on manage plugins, then on plugins search path, I get "the select folder is not a valid search path for this type of plugin". I don't know if you can help me with that please. Thanks in advance.

Yea I move some plug-in file paths and now some plugins are missing smh
@ScaleAudio2 жыл бұрын
For the plugins you'll want to add those filepaths in your plugin manager and then do a rescan. It might not fix any broken links but at least you'll be able to add the plugins back to your lists.

Hi, I just updated to FL 21..and I noticed all the sound packs that i had in the Packs section in the browser was gone? luckily I found it in the FL 20 folder and transferred it manually to the Packs folder in FL 21. it seems to be working ok.. but i was wondering if you had any idea why this happened? I just want to make sure i've done everything correctly. I'd appreciate your help. Thanks.

Sorry for the late response! Whenever a new edition of FL Studio is downloaded, it is treated like a brand-new program. Thankfully, you don't need to worry about this when upgrading versions, for example, upgrading from FL 20 to FL 20.3 is just a version update. You will however need to worry about this if going from FL 20 to FL 21. A good way around this is to create a folder with all of your samples and place it in your documents or music folder. After doing so, you can add the file path to your samples to FL Studios "File Settings". Any folders added in the "File Settings" will show up in your browser.

@@ScaleAudio Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. You made that so easy to understand. I'm wondering if you would be able to help me with another problem I'm having.. its to do with my audio...for the past couple of months I've been experiencing occasional pops and crackerling sounds when I play back in Fl studio. I currently use a Presonus Audiobox 96 interface and I have that selected in my inputs/outputs. I've also checked the buffer size ..etc. I also get the one or two crackles when I record vocals. I'm not sure what is going on, as I know it's not a CPU issue. I don't know whether it's to do with something in FL or Windows or my interface? I'd be grateful if you could help in any way....
@ScaleAudio Жыл бұрын
@@DreSoul2049 Definitely. So this is most likely due to under-runs. This means that sample data could not generate in time to be played back. Latency is meant to give the time for the computer to process the audio in order to avoid this. Getting a pop or crackle is often a symptom of this but the cause can sometimes be more complicated. Go to your audio settings and make sure “mix in buffer switch” is off. Mix in buffer switch bypasses FL Studio and puts everything straight on the hardware which can have varying effects. You can also try clicking “triple buffer” in your audio settings and see if this resolves the issue (you most likely won’t be able to record like this because the latency you’ll get). If triple buffer solves the problem you know it’s a buffer issue. If you increase the buffer size and this doesn’t resolve the issue it could be plug-in related. You can turn triple buffer off and if you have effects in your mixer, remove one at a time until the offender disappears. Let me know if these help. in the event you are still having issues I have a deep dive audio settings video which could possibly help. 🫡

@@ScaleAudio Hi I did respond a few days ago but when I checked back my message had disappeared. So I will attempt to remember what I had written. I started off by saying thank you so much for the info. I've carried out all of what you had mentioned. Turning off the 'mix in buffer switch' seemed to have helped a little but I would still get the occasional pops and clicks here and there in different places when I playback a track. The clicks happen when a audio sample or midi is playing during playback. I also tried switching on the 'triple buffer' but unfortunately I get the same issue, so I just turned it back off. I also increased the buffer size to 1024 and tried 2048 (which is the highest on Universal Control) but again the same issue occurs. It also happens even when I don't have a plugin in the mixer. I just have no idea what's going on? I also tried to change some Power Options settings within Windows that I saw mentioned in someone else's video...But again same issue. I'm wondering if it could be an issue with my interface, because I have noticed some occasional pops and clicks whilst watching youtube videos...It doesn't happen as often though. The deep dive audio settings video you mentioned, is it the one that's called 'The Last FL Studio Audio Settings Video You'll Need...?' because I have watched it and gone through the steps. Maybe I'll go through it again. But if you have any other suggestions, I'd be most grateful. Thanks again.

@@DreSoul2049 Sorry for the late response, just got back from a much-needed vacation. It's very possible that it is related to a hardware issue. Do you have these issues when you are not using your interface? Such as using asio4all or FL Studio asio? Also, have you checked the manufacturers website to see if there are any newer drivers? To help narrow down the cause you could test different monitors to mark those off the list as potential issues. If it happens in both your headphones and while playing out of your monitors, then at least you know neither of those are the issues. If it happens out of only your headphones or only your monitors then you know they could potentially be the problem, that or the port they are plugged into. On another note, I highly doubt it's related to the electrical in your home, however, you could try plugging your devices into different outlets in your house as well just to knock it off the list. Sometimes bad electrical can cause noise issues, although symptoms of bad electrical is generally noise, not pops and cracks. If you do try a different outlet, try to use one that is on a different circuit.

If it’s going to be a pain to move, you can right click your one drive in your file explorer and choose “Always keep on this device” from the dropdown. There still may be some nuances I don’t know about that could cause problems but this should keep everything available and on disk for FL to access. NOTE: if you have A LOT of data in OneDrive, I’d pick and choose the folders you want to “keep on disk” to avoid overloading your hard drive.

@@STirZ_RockCityUg it could. You could also check if your laptop or computer has any spare slots for physical memory. I added a 2 TB NVME to my laptop due to size constraints. Best investment I’ve ever made.
