Thank you so much for making these videos. I've been going about making trance the wrong way for a few years and these videos are really showing me the light :D
@jacobisalemon9 жыл бұрын
***** Yes you are right, but I was going about bass layering completely different and was not getting the results that I had hoped.

The last sample "Reverb FX", that kind of Sub Drop introducing the break, i would recommend to use as a trigger signal for your basspad. No Fighting etc. xD You probably already know just wanted to mention :D Great content KEEP IT UP !

+Max Braiman thats actually something i would have liked to see. would it be possible for you to make a video going over that?
@MaxBraiman9 жыл бұрын

+Max Braiman What is the quantization setting you used to get that great swing?
@MaxBraiman9 жыл бұрын
+Todd Forsyth its a custom one, copy my piano roll and save the swing as a score file so you can apply it to everything
@TranceCore39 жыл бұрын
That first chord you picked instantly reminds me of Immersion by Genix vs Lange. If you make an uplifting remix of one of my favorite tunes I'd be super excited

Hi +MaxBraiman , you are awesome as usual!! :) There is one question. I will be grateful if you could answer that. Which plugin do you use for increasing the bass and punching effect (generally editing the kick to sound good) ?
@djcurka2027 жыл бұрын
try the r bass i use it for my kick and sub bass works great as it adds harmonics

Wow! Thanks for the information. I learned a lot. What monitors do you use, btw?
@MaxBraiman8 жыл бұрын
+Jason Renderman I use headphones. AKG K 701
@NosajRedner8 жыл бұрын
+Max Braiman I use k240's. They really lack in low end response but sound great with regards to stereo imaging.Thanks for the videos and response, man!
@MaxBraiman8 жыл бұрын
Jason Renderman yes i agree, but he mids and highs are extremely crisp. for low end mix i switch to earbuds (ipod headphones) believe it or not lol
@NosajRedner8 жыл бұрын
+Max Braiman So when you play your stuff out, it sounds okay even though you just use ipod headphones to mix the low end? Bit of a rhetorical question, I'm sure it works, otherwise you wouldn't use them! So you just know what to listen for and how to adjust things accordingly?
@djrea48159 жыл бұрын
Tried Spire out because you used it for like virtually every instrument in this track. Slightly less intuitive than Sylenth1, but considerably more versatile in sound design. Anyway, it seems to use up a butt-load of CPU, do you do anything to minimize this? You had quite a few instances of it open and FL was still running fine.
@TranceCore39 жыл бұрын
+DJ Rea If you're running 64bit you might be SOL, cuz Spire is 32bit and bridging takes so much RAM and CPU. It also depends on your preset/Synth. If it's a rich sound it will lag you, that pretty much goes for any software synth though.
@tuomasheikkinen92515 жыл бұрын
@@TranceCore3 problem solved now. Spire is 64bit.
@jacobisalemon9 жыл бұрын
Is there any way to simulate what the voices tab does in Spire with Sytrus or Harmor? None of the synths I use have that parameter and it sure seems to make your synths sound great.
@MaxBraiman9 жыл бұрын
+jacobisalemonDnB sytrus and harmor have a unison function where you can set voices, should be the same
@jacobisalemon9 жыл бұрын
+Max Braiman I've got that down, but next to mode in Spire you have Voices which I assume adds more of whatever wavetype you're using. I could be horrendously wrong and unison alone is all I'm hearing. Thanks for the reply btw :)
@MaxBraiman9 жыл бұрын
+jacobisalemonDnB in harmor and sytrus its called order, you then use the sliders to adjust unison panning/phase/pitch
@jacobisalemon9 жыл бұрын
+Max Braiman Thanks for the response, but I've already known about the unison settings within both of the plugins. At 10:37 in this video you changed the number of voices, is that just unison too? I'm sorry for not being clear enough.
@MaxBraiman9 жыл бұрын
+jacobisalemonDnB ok what youre referring to is polyphony voices, that just allows you to play multiple notes at the same time. if you have a polyphony of 2 and you play a pad chord with 3 notes it will only play 2 of them.

What does transient designer do?
@MaxBraiman8 жыл бұрын
Increases the volume of the initial transient (attack/click of a sound). For example if your kick is not punching through the mix you my want to you this instead of increasing the overall volume of it.
@MitaliusTheGreat7 жыл бұрын
Wait...Can't the FL sampler already do that with the ASDR knobs?
@MaxBraiman7 жыл бұрын
Mitchell Blackburn with the transient designer its easier to target the very initial spike in volume. ADSR would shape the sound too much IMO, its better for shortening the tail (sub) of a kick
