Welcome back to the Dream Automotive KZbin channel!
In last weeks video, we fitted the amazing new Milltek Valved Exhaust System to our 2023 Civic Type R FL5. After fitting we put it on our dyno to hear what it sounds like, and to check the performance! Some of you were disappointed when the video ended without us talking about any dyno figures, but fear not! After spending some much needed extra time testing, we finally have some results for you.

Do you think the current numbers you're seeing is due to the updated turbo design on the FL5? Would be interesting to see a stock FK8 turbo on a FL5 and see what numbers it would produce.

We're thinking that the power increase is a result of all the little refinements Honda have made over the FK8, rather than just the turbo but that's quite an interesting idea, we'll write that one down!

You have an amazing car congratulations. I have 2023 Acura Integra Elite a spec Canada 🇨🇦 version MT black and wife and I are having lots of fun with Acura saying 200hp but hondata dyno saying 234hp...but we'll get 2024 Acura Integra type S with 6 more hp than Civic type R.

Just returned back from having the same exhaust fitted to my FL5. It's a good compromise - the exhaust is quiet in Comfort mode but sounds nice when opened up in +R mode. Not sure what I expected but I'm fairly pleased with the results. The stock exhaust sound is very bland so this is an almost 'must have' upgrade unless you are really not bothered. I have to collect the stock 3.3m (in one complete piece) exhaust from the garage which is a challenge :) The video's are great by the way, there are a few things I'd like to change about the FL5. The first is the 'rev hang' for want of a better way to describe the fact the revs don't drop quick enough and there's a slight spongey turbo feel at the point where you get back on the acceleration in each gear. I haven't taken the TypeR on track yet but hope to this year. (Snetterton).

Car sounds mega.... Is this the non resonated exhaust? Do you have spacers and springs/coilovers on the car?

Thanks for watching! You're correct, this is the fully unresonated system. We're currently running the Nitron RoadSport Coilover Kit on the car with 10mm spacers on the rear and 3mm spacers on the front 💪

Lot of money for no gains 😂😂 Reckon my local exhaust fab shop could just cut out the centre resonators , put a front pipe on and it'd sound as good or better for a fraction of the price

An exhaust isn't gonna help with power. An intercooler is gonna be a better bet since the motors run hot and are prone to heat soak. The stock type r actually already has a good exhaust tbh.

It’s the opposite. An intercooler provides more cool air to the engine and thus exacerbates heat soak unless otherwise mitigated via: bigger vents, e85/meth, or intake relocation/etc. more power=more heat=more heat soak

@@Dailyshart It depends on how much power we are talking about, on a stock car, it's gonna add at most maybe 6-8 hp, that's not gonna increase heatsoak during normal driving. Generally speaking a larger intercooler is going to reduce heatsoak.

Wrong. The audio on the clip does no justice to the sound. It is indeed amazing, the crackles and burbles are really good and the depth is astounding for a four cylinder turbo. It sounds great in person.

Itrackin 24. I agree with you. I own an FK8 and have listened to a lot of these exhausts including the Miltek and quite frankly they make my ears bleed. That’s why four and a half years in I still run the stock exhaust. Each to there own

@@Scythersmile1 i had the Milltek non resonated on my fk8.. along side the water building up issue in the muffler section.. it doesnt sound good on Hondas. Lots of ppl agree on the forums too. Again to each their own..
