290/103 , the Pride of Sheffield Avenue. I had some friends who were in that house for a long time in fact one eventually became an Lt. for Ladder 103 and later a Battalion Chief in lower Manhattan. Did a ride along there back in the 80;'s when the fire house was one of the only non-vacant buildings on the block..lol. Right after my ride along they got a 10-75 for a automobile fire in the lobby of a vacant tenement...only in Brooklyn!

I am a firefighter in Poland. It would be great to go through a month of internship in such a unit in the USA. See and feel the work of a firefighter in the USA. Greetings to all firefighters.👍

2 engines, 2 ladders, and a chief for a gas odor? In my city, an investigate odor is 1 engine and that's it. FDNY has some insane response protocols
@emt53304 жыл бұрын
797 Schenck Ave is a multiple dwelling, with other multiple dwellings nearby. If there was a gas leak, it could permeate into more than one building.

I'm confused why they turn off the lights?
@chrisgoldberg63755 жыл бұрын
thatzombieplace should be a modified response is what it looks like to my knowledge. Chief can go emergency but the other units were downgraded to a nonemergency response. They used the lights to clear the intersection right in front of the firehouse then downgraded

Hate that modified response stuff. What a way to confuse motorists sometimes. One minute, you're pulling over because you see lights coming up, then next thing you know, they kill the lights. No offense, I support pulling over for emergency vehicles at all times, but some people wonder why motorists don't pull over right away.

Or dont leave the fire house with all the lights on like in this video. Just leave them off.
@ItsMuffMan Жыл бұрын
@@Wouter112 it’s protocol to leave and enter the house with lights on, it’s to let motorists know your leaving or preparing to back in
