I live right next to it. The brown building. The scariest moment I’ve experienced yet. I would not be here if it wasn’t for the firefighters and I’m so thankful for that brand new pharmacy CEDRA which had a fire restricted wall that prevented the fire from coming to our way. We were so lucky.

Had a similar experience to yours as a kid when a townhouse in my row had an electrical fire. It spread through the next 3 homes through the roof as the firewall was a couple feet short. We were house #4. Original home fully gutted, next 2 a mix of fire/water damage. Mine was spared. Scary for sure, particularly having to flee in the night with whatever we could grab. That definitely triggered my appreciation of, and lifelong interest in, firefighting. Shoutout to Toronto FD!

Incident commander knew what he was thinking when he urgently told firefighters to abandon interior and roof we are urgently going to defensive!!! That fire was already moving the breath of the structure in the first 15-20 minutes --- bring out the bad boy tower ladders to get the job done!!! A great example even an old fire wall as long as it is not compromised will do its job Great job FDNY!

I did laugh when the firefighters broke the car windows to put the hose through the car. The police need to start towing vehicles that are parked in front of hydrants. @@SkylerFire From what I saw, it looked like it may have been the smoke shop, or the Chinese restaurant. At the beginning from where the heavy smoke was, was coming from toward the middle of either place. It seemed to travel in both directions very quickly. 🙂⚘️.

You know that $0.99 store has an incredible fire load! NYC is constructed on top of structures that run the gamut on occupancy-type and age of occupancies! They had better watch that rear wall it is obviously compromised! Need to get some lines on the 3 side exposures!!! I get it get everyone out and away from the structure but you would think that until towers got setup they would continue driving some ground monitor streams into the interior of the structure??? Just my feeble firefighter brain talking! I totally know FDNY has ridden this rodeo many 1000s of times!!!
