I used a few different DACs. I had an SMSL VMV DAC, Chord Qutest, dCS Lina, and a Weiss DAC204 that I used with each at various points.

Was the Envy the standard or the performance?

It was the standard. Performance is a little bit closer to Soul tonally to the best of my recollection, but I didn't have a Performance model available for listening while I was working on this.
