Here in South Jersey, Muskrats were mainly trapped for there firs. The meats were a by product, but much sought after. We would parboil the meats, bone in, in water with cut up onions. Then, flour and pan fry in Italian salad dressing, ad a can or two of stewed tomatoes, let them braise a while, (with the flour it made a delicious sauce) then serve. The back meat was the best! Very tender when eaten off the bone..

You can use golf balls like you did and the cups for the dog proofs. For the muskrats when it’s icy u can look for bubbles under the ice if it’s clear. That will show you their trails they are using. Also with steaming the traps down use a long piece of wood, you can make them out of scrap wood about 4’ to 5’ tall depending on how high the grass is. Then you can take orange flagging tape in the top so you can’t miss them

Hey flair real talk the dye helps disquise your trap rats start recognizing that siler tint from the factory trap also the wax acts as a lubricant so the trap fires faster and also prevents it from rusting too much!! A little surface rust is fine for dyeing your traps but too much can cause it not to fire. Good luck getting better everyday

With that many Muskrats around there, they had to be near before it flooded, so if there's a dirt embankment the water goes up to, there should be Muskrat dens in it. Have you ever watched the KZbinr "Joseph Carter the Mink Man" catching Muskrats with his pet Mink's? If you haven't you should look him up, and maybe do a collab with him. Watching his Mink's catch Muskrats and fight with them is pretty cool. lol.

Since you’re always frying your catch, you can make it extra crunchy by do the following in this order, season meat, roll in flower, dip in scramble raw eggs, roll in panko (bread crumbs) and fry. Japanese call it katsu

you need to get some snares for the coyote trail by the fence. that's how i trap wolf's and coyotes up here in Alaska. The best way is to get a dead carcass of some kind, then put it in some thick brush. then make 4 or 5 paths throw the brash and put a snare in each one. oh when it starts gets snowy you can get some wax paper and put that over your foot holds, with a light dusting of snow. Take a full size marshmallow and push it into the trigger of the DP. Forces them to grab the trigger to get the bait 👊👊 You should really modify your traps too. Typically the pan tension is way to tight out of the box. Also, look into night latching 👌
