favourites With regards to cooking your jerky on your grill (or barbeque, as we Canadians call it), what you need is a barbecue basket. It's flat and hinged with a long handle so that you can just turn the entire basket over to cook the other side. I have one for fish because it is so flakey and it works great! I've also used it for veggies, chicken wings, anything small and fiddly or that falls apart easily. I use it pretty much every time I barbeque. Also, love the animals and the cabin build is going to be great! Congrats to you and Macie (sp?) on your recent wedding. Wishing you both a happy, healthy and fun marriage. Keep laughing together! I've always duck and goose hunted with the cheapest decoys possible. Never wore Sitka gear and we build our pits or blinds out of the cheapest shit we could get at home depot and out of the natural surroundings. We whack hundreds of birds a year no problem. I also have clients we take out that will spend 5 grand on a new shotgun, a case of Hevi branded shells, and the best camo just to sit in a blind thinking it will make a difference. I'm still shooting a 20 year old Beretta AL391 and shoot the cheapest steel that will pattern good out of it. The only real money I spend is on good calls. Public land birds are a whole different story, they are use to being shot (sky busted at more like it) at after the first week and listening to guys with poor calling skills and sound like they are blowing a kazoo and they usually have a federal refuge near by to go loaf in, that's at least the case for the big duck parks in Mo.

Wild Game Jerky! I’ve used this recipe for years: 1 cup good soy sauce 1/4 cup orange juice Zest of one orange 4-5 garlic cloves finely minced 1-2 tablespoons of raw honey 1 onion finely minced 1 -2 jalapeños finely minced 1 tablespoon of brown sugar 1 tablespoon of black pepper 1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes 1 tablespoon of ginger powder 1 teaspoon of onion powder 1 teaspoon of cumin 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves Makes 2 pounds of meat soak for 6-8 hours for best results and then toss on the smoker...

Hate that sticky deep mud. Bought some velcro boot straps this year that you cinch over your boot and around your ankles (outside the boot) and it REALLY helps keep your feet in your wader boots. Best $8 i ever spent. Highly recommend
