Hey flair! I’m a mechanic that works on stuff like that. To get it to work better, you need to up the idle quite abit and work the clutch more. When you turn it around, you need to hold the clutch abit. You also need a new battery, and you need to lubricate the throttle base and throttle cable. Also, if it even has an alternator, which it might not, you might need to replace it. Cheers and have a good one!

Probably wouldn't hurt to lower the gear ratio some also. Most motor cycles are one down and four up so you might be starting out in second gear.

It probably has a stator because it is a smaller engine and not an alternator but they both do the same thing which is charge the battery!

Good idea! Didn’t think about that! But yes that is true although, for 650cc Inline 4 cylinder engines, have 5 gears, 1 down, 4 up, with neutral in the middle of 1 and two. Now that I watch it again, it does look like the gear ratio needs to be set and tuned correctly. Good eye dude!

When you guys make a turn on it and slowing down you guys are probably in to high of a gear and definitely look in to the gear ratio and possibly idle it up a bit and is it a dirt bike or is a street bike motor? I’d it’s a street bike and your not getting your battery charged look in to maybe the standered?

Definitely keep the new "Lawn mower" ! Jake seems like a competent mechanic. Adding a choke cable shouldn't be too hard. Lubricate the throttle cable and throttle handle with silicone spray. Make sure you're taking off in first gear because a couple of times it sounded like it wasn't. Permanently mount one of the battery jumpers on it. Then you're good to go. 👍💥

Flair if it has motorcycle gearing it should be 1 click down for 1st one full click up for 2nd another click up for 3rd and another click up for 4th. Neutral should be between 1st and 2nd to get to neutral from 1st you need to do a half a click up and you should get to neutral. Love the vids

PRO-TIP: Use the clutch like you would in a car. If you go to slow; YES it will kill the motor. Starting it constantly because you stall it will kill your battery and starter. Good luck with the learning process.

Love my chicken tractors I first built for my girls! They're ideal for if you want to work a certain area for food plot planting, as they will eat away at all the weeds, grass, anything you don't want, and in turn, they fertilize the area with their manure. Seen a lot of people use this system and it works very well! Cost efficient too, in terms of minimal feed for the girls, as well as minimal fertilizer for the area when planting.

Hey Flair, looks like thats an old GSX-R SRAD cluster on that, if its the same engine then I would check your Regulator/Rectifier, those things has a habit of cooking themselves and then they wouldn't charge. Pretty easy to check and change out if you needed to for the charging issues (unless its a bad battery) Once you get that thing tuned in, they are pretty solid motors. Have the idle set a bit higher, and if you have some sort of exhaust on there I think it would solve a fair bit of your problems. For the gears, picture it like your hand opened, thumb down and facing away from your body. Your thumb (should be pointed down) is first gear, the dead space between your thumb and index finger would be neutral, index finger is second, middle finger is 3rd and so on (should be 6 gears).

Hey Flair! I watch a few YT Homesteading channels and some do the Cornish Cross like you have. ALL of them have said that you should process them as early as 9 weeks old. They are bred to grow fast and be huge, but there is a downsize of being smelly and start to die off if they are grown out too long. There is a breed called the Freedom Ranger that might be a better fit your fly control game..they grow slower and don't eat the feed like the Cornish but still a great meat bird.

Not to be rude at all because it does have a lot of problems but it not staying running is just idle and lack of skill with clutch and motorcycle gearbox. Neutral is all the way down and then up half a click in between first and second. Pull in the clutch and make sure you're in the right gear when you turn around if it starts to die you can Rev it up with the clutch pulled in to keep it going. Just try to be as smooth as possible with it till you get the hang of it

It’s not dying. You just can’t drive a manual, when you stop you have to pull the clutch. Also here’s how the gear works I’m assuming based on motorcycles. 4 3 2 N 1 Neutral is a half step between 1 and 2. Can be hard to find. Let off the clutch slower. Ease into it

your problem is there is too much air getting into the gas line, Ive seen this happen before on one of my motors because of a missing rubber gasket and it caused the motor to stall when at or near idle just need to pin point the air leak and patch it and you should be all good. Cheers!!!

flair it’s not dying because of the battery, you have to work the clutch, clutch cable might have a little slack in it if it dies when the clutch is pulled all the way it, but you have to feather the throttle and clutch, and when taking off you can give it more gas it won’t go anywhere until you let out of clutch👌🏻 good luck

Flair you should’ve left the chickens and turkeys in their pen since they were doing so good in it if you started cleaning up all the manure then rake that dirt you wouldn’t have all the flies that you have that are attacking the animals plus you should get Raid Max Perimeter Protection to spray around all the pens it would help alot getting rid of all the flies.
