I just discovered this band while looking for old Shins stuff. James Mercer mentioned that Neal Langford was the other songwriter in Flake so I Googled him and it turns out he died two days ago. RIP Neal and thanks for a great album.

@@alif2505 yeah it's a great album. I've been listening a good bit since I found them. It's actually on Spotify now too. They're called Flake Music on it but it is there. It was re-issued in 2014 I think.

Been a Shins fan for years. That said, even James Mercer's early work has an undeniable "listenability". It's raw, but in the same alternative vein as early Weezer. And maybe ahead of its time.

I've been working on lyrics for this album on lyricwikia. Going through a ton of video comment and various forms, I have almost got it complete (missing On the Playground). Your best bet is online, man. The vinyls will be fairly expensive too because it's not really being sold anymore, so if you really want to have the music on you I'd torrent it, but that's just me.
