@@lizkizub6206 Yes and no. Krokodil is really a highly impure homemade version of desomorphine which is a much less potent opioid than fentanyl. The reason for the horrible flesh-eating side effects from krokodil in Russia are because of the injection of all toxic solvents and unremoved fillers it contains when they are cheaply and poorly manufactured by unknowledgeable chemists.

I've responded as a medic to a flakka call. We fought a 90ish pound girl for 45 minutes to attempt to sedate and restrain her. 2 medical units and 3 police officers. She broke her own hand escaping from the cuffs before I responded as backup. She thought we were demons attempting to drag her to hell. Ketamine seemed to slow her down slightly but ramp up the hallucinations. She was unnaturally strong. Absolutely terrifying.

It’s understandable now when I learnt humans never test their genetic strength limit because it can damage our bodies. This drug I guess suppresses that urge for self preservation and a 90 pound woman can wreck havoc.

My mother is a long time drug user. I have only seen her a few times in my adult life, but she briefly came home to make an effort to get clean. While she stayed with us, she told me that she had done flakka twice. She described how both times she had gotten so hot she stripped naked, jumped the fence into someone’s back yard and got into their pool to cool down. She is still in Fort Lauderdale to this day because the drugs are cheapest there. Don’t do drugs kids

I've done this drug before under the impression that it was Molly. It was extremely stimulating, but without the strong euphoria associated with something like Amphetamine or Cocaine. It was actually very disphoric and dull. My body was very stimulated and my heart was racing, but I felt really, really paranoid and jittery. It lasted about 6 hours total, and the whole high felt like a really bad Meth comedown. I ended up taking some Ativan and drinking a few beers to go to sleep that night, and the next day, I felt extremely depressed and unmotivated. I found out later, that it was a synthetic stimulant from China called aPVP. It was one of the worst drug experiences I've ever had, and since then, I've never trusted anything sold as Molly, or anything sold on the street in general. Looking back at moments like this makes my sobriety a lot easier. I haven't touched a hard drug in years and I don't drink anymore either. It's a much better life when I'm clear headed.

As a paramedic for over a decade, I dealt with this drug twice and bore the scars on my back from one patient who had fallen out of a 3rd story window and landed on his back, and was unconscious when I arrived. When I turned my back to him to grab equipment out of my Thomas Pack he grabbed a piece of window glass and slashed me across my back that took 10 staples to close. It took me still bleeding my partner 3 cops and on K9 to subdue him. He had 2 fractured disks, a cracked pelvis, and a broken arm throughout all of this. I dealt with many other drugs and by far this was the worst. The other time I dealt with it was less volient, the patient was naked and sitting under an oak tree and was shoving acorns up his anus, and when I got there was trying to do the same with his penis.

When I was a cop we got called to a neighborhood for a woman screaming and incoherent, found out she had done Flakka. Our priority was to contain her until paramedics could sedate, I remember fighting with her and the strength she had. She was convinced we had attacked her children and knocked my body cam clear off my vest, she would scream incoherently but she still knew who we were - at one point I had control of her left arm and was trying to get her into the ambulance and she stopped entirely got real somber and goes "that really hurts" and then started screaming this ungodly scream again. It was the creepiest thing to see someone snap out of the high for one second and then go back to screaming. The EMS staff and the hospital had to hit her with so many sedatives just to get her in a position to help her.

My father is a recovered heroine addict, alcoholic, you name it. He's been sober for 35 years and now works as a city counsel leader, working with local DEA to offer HOLISTIC drug rehab treatment that follows the patient through every stage of their recovery. These designer drugs almost killed my brother, and, along with opiods, are destroying many areas of our country. It crosses socioeconomic boundaries and is not a respecter of background, race, or any other societal line. Designers are especially terrifying, bc as soon as one chemical compound is banned, they alter ONE ingredient (any one that won't change the compound too greatly, but retains the effects of the high.) Boom. Another formula to outlaw. More red tape. Repeat. Addiction is cunning and powerful. But there's a way out. I've been sober for 13 years. By the grace of God. Our nation - our fellow Americans - need more comprehensive substance abuse programs that you dont have to be a millionaire to afford. There are programs out there. There is hope. No matter how bad it seems...You're worthy of a sober life!

My best friend was in a depressed party stage a couple of years back where he started using MDMA. About a year into this era of his life his dealer started selling him Flakka and lying to him telling him it was MDMA. It was painfully obvious, even to him, that whatever this was it wasn't Molly. He started to become extremely paranoid, didn't sleep, hallucinating, etc. He kept buying this crap for months and it got to a point where he was really starting to scare me. He would accuse me of being in his house when I was 10 miles away at my own house. He would insist I was in his house and sneaking around whispering stuff. Any car that passed his house he thought was someone spying on him. When home at his place all he would do is watch his security cameras from his room all night. Eventually he got so bad he started coming over to my house when the paranoia and fear got too much at home and he would run from window to window peeping out from the shades. It came to a head when he came to my house and accused me of calling the cops on him because a cop car happened to pass by while he was peeping out the window. He got irate and became a raging lunatic bearing down on me, yelling at the top of his lungs that I called the cops on him. I managed to calm him down and convince him I had done no such thing and calmly told him he needs to stop buying this crap from that asshole. Told him what he already knew from first try, that this wasn't Molly and whatever it was was doing to him was scaring me beyond the point where I can justify remaining his friend. Luckily he heard me and stopped doing it and I didn't have to end our friendship.

That being said, I’m not sure how much it’ll effect when you’ve been doing heroin and crack for days, but I saw plenty of poor people taking it habitually and turning into different people. Most drug sellers are also victims of addiction too. Often only getting into production or distribution to fund their own habits or bills. Incarcerating people does nothing to fix drugs. We cant even keep them out of the prisons. People should be able to buy and put whatever they want in their body if theyre not harming anyone else. The drug war failed and only waste taxpayer money, back up our courts, over crowds our prisons, turns non violent drug users into hardened criminals, helps build gangs, and profits private prisons and cartels. Drugs are a health issue, most of the time mental illness, not a criminal one. Putting them in cuffs doesnt help them, it often makes them worse.

Allot of drugs come from third world countries. They don't care what happens to their customers because it isn't their problem. They're lower than animals the people making these drugs. And deserve no humane treatment. Since the sources of these drugs are often foreign, there is almost no way to punish them. Many dealers here don't even know what they're dealing. One of my girlfriends best friends took some (it was sold to her as meth) and sprinted naked around the high school running track. It was a big event, made national news (was even picked up by a few international viral news sites). My girlfriend and I went to see a John Waters stand-up special, and even he had a joke about it. We got a chance to meet him afterwards and he ended up calling us the "Flakka crew" and seemed mildly impressed that we knew her, haha. I feel bad now, having joked about it at all. She never did seem right after that. She had a pretty normal life, some substance abuse problems, but nothing crazy until that day. Since then she's done all these dangerous and crazy things, been arrested over and over. Spent a lot of time in psych wards and rehabs. Recently she stole her grandmother's car and tried to abduct a little kid. We're not sure why, all we know is she tried to get a little girl to get in the car with her, and they called the police. All this makes her sound horrible, but she really was a cool person. Smart, funny, would do anything for her friends. It's a huge bummer. She's still going to court over the abduction thing. Was offered 10 years as a plea deal, and in Kentucky you have to do 85% of the sentence if it's a "violent crime" and this is being considered one. Life totally ruined

my ex boyfriend introduced me to this drug. We were using together, but I had to stop because it was unbearable and I had my goals in mind. At a point I left him, also because of that, and he went down the rabbit hole, using like 5 days non-stop, not going to work, living among rubbish and dirt. He was absolutely paranoid, I had to come and get him out of his state more than once, cleaning his apartment and making him sleep, and he was convinced people were recording him, spying on him. At a point he started accusing me of buying drugs and having them shipped to his apartment, or of stealing him goods and money (as if he had any, but whatever). I had to cut ties with him. After two years, I still happen to have shivers/cravings, despite absolutely hating the substance, now as back then, as it is absolutely disgusting and hard on lungs and stomach (other than the rest of the body of course). Though I consider myself clean and I can consider it behind me, it took me a lot, and I still feel the aftermath. In 1989, when I was 17, I bought pot, and didn't know it was laced with PCP. It's the state of losing your own mind and being aware of it but being unable to calm down since feelings of anxiety, paranoia and agitation keep pushing you to uncontrollable and often violent actions. A nightmare that is taking place in reality and ruining your own and others' lives while reducing you to an observer of your own self-destruction.

South Florida used to be the rehab capitol of the country. Maybe still is. After rehab, most people move into a halfway-houses or sober living house for 30-90 days, before going back home (if they had one). Back in 2015 there was a Flakka dealer on every single street a halfway-house was on. $5 is all you needed. They targeted people straight out of rehab. True predatory behavior. It sucked to watch

Anyone remember the footage of that one guy running like a zombie through a parking structure, and while a terrified female driver tried to avoid him, he smashed right through an SUV’s rear window, head first? That shiz is some seriously scary stuff. What’s amazing is that these people typically seem to sustain relatively minor injury, considering what they do to themselves. This has to be the most terrifying drug ever. Forget angel dust, crystal, acid, krocodile…I can’t imagine having one of these hyper-speed, mentally twisted human weapons, coming at me. You aren’t safe even in a car. And worst of all? These are just regular people. They aren’t like this. Their body is high jacked, like a possession. Of course, they shouldn’t have done the drug; I t’s reputation precedes it. But no one deserves what this stuff does to a person. Many drugs ought to have their status as illegal revisited, but not this stuff. This stuff has to somehow just be eliminated altogether.

25 year paramedic- excited delirium is a big deal, which is why we have protocols for this to sedate with a benzodiazepine or even Ketamine. Saves the person from overheating and dying and law enforcement from getting injured. The reason they only found THC is that guys system, most likely, is because toxicology didn’t know what to look for with the formulation changes. It’s not like they just look for Flacca. Same thing happened with that Florida guy who was eating the homeless guys face, only THC found in his system.

Having said that, I am familiar with the case involving Austin and he had a well documented history of mental illness going back many months. So, it seems both Flakka and psychosis, but definitely not THC, can cause facial cannibalism. Also, I'm super impressed that you've made it 25 years as a paramedic. "Excited delirium" is a psuedoscientific case of overactive imagination and not something that should even be dignified with the term "diagnosis." It is an untested, unproven hypothesis without any support in the scientific community at all. It comes from a single source -- the fevered imagination of a single ER doctor who assumed his work experiences qualified him to form new scientific hypotheses and the entire scientific -- meaning actual scientists -- community has been unanimous in calling "excited delirium" junk science and a harmful bit of guesswork that has no place in medicine or law enforcement. I'm not a scientist either but I do have 1) a BS in neuroscience from a state university and 2) years of experience as a metro cop in a city far and away more dangerous than any municipality in the entire state of Florida. I left police work a couple decades ago and I've noticed an unfortunate and rather disgraceful trend in police work these days, and that's shying away from trying to control a suspect the traditional way -- meaning actually putting your hands on them -- and towards such things as pepper spray and the Taser, two things which were NEVER INTENDED to be a substitute for actually having to fight someone but instead were intermediate weapons on the spectrum sitting between defensive tactics and the lethal force of a firearm. This whole "excited delirium" BS is just more of the same except it's emergency personnel hammering someone with a massive dose of ketamine instead to put them down so the people on scene don't have to go through the scary experience of actually having to struggle with them. And as so-called medical professionals the fact that paramedics are actually playing into this BS is beyond disgraceful. People, believe me or don't. But before you start calling me names do yourself a favor so you won't look like an imbecile: look in the literature for a single peer-reviewed scientific study of any kind that actually supports the "excited delirium" hypothesis. Trust me, you won't find a single one. Whatever there is in the scientific literature that even addresses the subject is universal in rejecting the idea as harmful psuedscience of the worst kind. On numerous occasions suspects have died as a result of a huge dose of ketamine or some other chemical restraint injected into them by misguided emergency personnel to restrain them, too often at the instigation of police on the scene. Paramedics should not allow police officers to make their diagnosis for them. Both police officers and the paramedics who have severely injured or killed people with this nonsense are finally getting the absolute bejesus sued out of them now and it's about time. If you take a million or two from a municipality every time one of their employees screws up that badly, believe me they will eventually change what they're doing. And to all you would be police officers out there...if you're too chickenshit to actually put your hands on someone then you are unsuited and unqualified to work in law enforcement and should seek other employment that doesn't involve courage and a willingness to accept risk for the greater good. Sure, back then we put our hands on people all the time. Sometimes it was controlling them with joint locks and pain compliance, sometimes it was hitting them. But amazingly we seemed to always be able to get someone under control without killing them. I routinely had to go to the ER myself to get sewn up after some of these encounters as a result of having been stabbed multiple times, slashed with broken bottles, and other things that a panicking criminal will do to try to keep you from dragging them to jail. And I managed to always subdue the suspect and make the arrest without killing them or even sending them to the hospital most of the time and I did it without ketamine or any other form of chemical restraint. Despite the fact that twenty and more years ago the violent crime rate in this country was far and away worse than it is now, we still managed to take people into custody and the ones who were seriously injured or killed in the process were few and far between. Despite the fact that police work is a lot less dangerous now, they kill suspects at a much higher rate than ever happened when I was doing it. And a big part of that is a lack of courage on the part of some who have courage as part of their job description.

I think the most basic multi-drug tests should pick up a-pvp due to its similarity to amphetamines (and due to the common use of cathinones like it). what I find more plausible is misidentification of synthetic cannabinoids as THC, and synthetic cannabinoids have been at least as common as a-pvp, with the reputation that some of them have really strange effects (very different from cannabis) and do in fact make people do crazy things. they are also used, though more so in very recent years, on black market weed to cheaply make it stronger, so someone could test positive for THC after smoking laced weed, and the synthetic cannabinoid may go unidentified. either way, you're basing that guess on insufficient information. the perpetrator could just as well have been just mentally ill and sober, you can't diagnose that a random stranger is high at all or high on something specific based on them being violent and crazy.

@@VERCINGET0RIX no. Not really. This is a show about the dark stuff. And this drug is pretty dark. The use of descriptive words doesn't weaken the content. I'd describe any drug that makes you gouge your mother's eyes out as the worst. Even if there were s thousand of them. These are hardcore and bad drugs. People should be told about the horrors that they can cause. Then no one can claim they didn't know what it may do when they take it.

I had a cousin who smoked spice which isn’t flakka but it makes people act similarly. She spent 30 mins under the table screaming that we were trying to kill her and kicking anyone who tried to help her up (very hard might I add) and when she finally calmed down a little bit she just sat on the couch w a blank look for an hour. I was like thanks for the psa - now I know to just stick to the real thing 🤣🤣 the dude that sold it to her told her it was just like weed, but legal. She bought it at a gas station (this was when it first became popular cause I’m pretty sure it’s illegal now)

We were 16 years old when we smoked it, ordering from official sources, at first it was fun but by over time it got stronger, until i would quit it because i couldnt get rid of full fledged paranoia even year after i stopped using, i feel like i have recovered from it but few of my friends are still sure that their brain is still fucked up by this. Never do any experimental/new drugs, you don't know the effects it has on you'r brain, i'd say that dont do any drugs, but i am pretty sure that any of the classic drugs are 100 times safer than any new one.

@@markov622 your so right my cousin got some “spice” from the gas station back in like 2013 that the dude told her was “basically legal weed.” And she smoked like 3 hits off a joint and freaked out so bad she hid under the table for like 30 mins screaming and then spent the next hour in a vegetable state not talking or even rlly blinking. As a Native American I tend to stick to good old weed, mushrooms and tobacco. Not always safe but at least they come from the earth

Remember folks, if you're going to experiment with drugs, be sure to take the time to do as much research into the chemicals you're putting in your body. Don't think it'll just be fine, having a vast knowledge of the chemicals you ingest can help you if it's a bad high, and will help with any anxiety and stress you may normally have just taking it. I don't recommend doing drugs, but if you do, be informed, know what's what, and make sure you know where its coming from. Stay safe people

That case you mentioned where a guy attacked a couple in the garage is an old ish one. He had a very severe and rapidly progressing mental disorder (i cannot remember if it was schizophrenia or something else), where he became completely delusional and entirely mad. His parents tried getting him help but unsuccessfully at that time. I was surprised to hear about it here since yeah he didnt have much in his system besides weed.

His parents barely helped him. No one really did. He kept getting worse and it was almost like everyone just hoped hed get better miraculously. He suddenly got really into christianity after not being into religion, he started preaching which people said was weird, he acted odd, said odd things and even said told people he wasnt well, but they just didnt seem to really believe that he as as bad as he was.

@@heyysimone before I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia I thought everybody else was really weird I didn't get why nobody understood me when I was trying to convey a message and wondered why I always felt someone standing behind me I know there's nothing there but I can feel it and when it's really quiet there are mumbles Whispers in my ear I was really heavy into a lot of narcotic what's my psychiatrist told me that is a symptom of the disorder not sure why after many rounds of trial medication he just told me to go get some marijuana Indica strain it'll be a light sedative because my pill sedatives were way too strong and that was the lowest dose available certain drugs if they have any mind-altering or psychoactive effect can severely exacerbate schizophrenia delusions and cause erratic reactions to the hallucinations that are always there but are now more prevalent because of the psychoactive drug. It also put you into a fight or flight response it would never be a good idea to Chase or corner someone who is afflicted I have jumped out of a second-story window because I thought I was being chased and I was laughing like a madman but that was a manic laugh Psychological disorders are no joke you have to be very careful with someone like that it would be a good idea to research physical tics and signs of mental illness My parents also did nothing and just waited for me to figure out I need to go to the hospital on my own even though they thought something was wrong with me in the fourth grade Takes a lot of patience and energy to help someone like me so most people don't bother even family But luckily I was living with this sense fourth grade until I was Thirty so I have developed ways to at least lower the stress on my psyche If you have a friend suffering from any form of mental illness if you care about them truly check up on them as much as you can you would be surprised how much a 30 45-minute phone call can do for their Mental Health Most of us don't have anyone to talk to because people are either afraid have a stigma about it or they just don't want to spend the time and energy
