When you embrace your suffering you embrace your cross and your cross carries you. If you don't embrace your cross you are carrying your cross on your back and it will weigh you down. When you embrace your cross you feel joy as it is Christ carrying the cross for you. That's the reason the martyrs had such joy while being martyred as Christ was living in them. When Christ lives fully in you, you will have love joy and peace. The kingdom of God is within you. It is Christ living fully in you.
