Fun review as always, Dave! I recently acquired a pair of lined horween horsehide CXL strip boots. That break-in is horrific; completely different than normal CXL. Horse leather is a very interesting leather I think.

That color/patina that's developing on the sides of your boots could be from your pants. Perfectly normal and part of the character. Good looking shoes!👍🏻

My NFs are my "super nice" boots but I still wear em to work where nasty shit can happen. I'm careful around catching them on pallets, but otherwise, just wear and enjoy. That chunk taken out is rough (I have some like that on my Nicks), but you just gotta embrace it!

Yeah for me it's like, I don't ever care about scratching any boots, but this is one of the few I was trying to keep looking nice, and it didn't work. So yeah, oh well, embrace it I shall hahaha....Your NFs are awesome!

Those aren’t nails breaking out of the side of the top lift. It’s the washers that the nails catch when they are hammered on. Looks like they sanded them a little too tight. Oh well, almost not noticeable.

Super wow wow , those boots look awesome . I wish grant stone can make a boot like that , it's beefy with lovely looking leather . Wish they had boots to sell instead of mto , I hate and just won't wait months for any boot..Nice review

😂 no worries! ….. I should do a video about this. I favor 3 pairs of footwear far above the rest, cuz they just fit into my life style really well, go with everything, fit well, and above all else are very practical: the natty CXL Grant Stone Diesel, the natty CXL Oakstreet moccasin shoes, and the Briselblack engineers in brown Tochigi cowhide. For sure I have multiple other boots I absolutely love for their unique features, but it’s by far those 3 which are the most “me” so get used much more frequently.

No way bro the best boot experience is going to the store , checking them all out , feeling smelling , trying on and then leaving the store with a pair of boots that fit 100% . So I know majority will agree with me on that. Big down side of waiting months is winter is only a few months , you wait months and there's a freaking problem , maybe a scratch on the boot and the worst is the boot does not fit right, that's a nightmare . Only way I order online is if the company has in stock and ready to ship .

I just like the custom order process. Different strokes for different folks, as they say…. But yeah you’re right, trying on boots in the store is pretty fun.

Unfortunately those in store products are not on the level of stuff like Flame Panda. People are willing to go through these processes and waits because the product is drastically superior. Even PNW boots put anything you find in a store to shame.

@EDHBlvd all is true what you said , but you don't read the horror for people who waited 6 months and then the boots didn't fit right and then have to return and wait another 6 months , that's crazy . And this is why the majority won't buy this way.
