Back to Duel Academy! 😅 That said, a correct and alternate turn would have won the Duel in a similar fashion: With the -500 LP from the Ultimate Flame Swordsman quick effect, and then the 2800(Ultimate Flame Swordsman)+700(Fighting Flame Dragon)=3500 x2(Ultimate Flame Swordsman Effect)=7000, Paul's life points would have been at 500, and he could not summon a Monster without falling victim to another -500 from another Ultimate Flame Swordsman's quick effect. He was using Flame Swordsrealm incorrectly. You have to lower the attack of a Warrior monster. The fusion he was lowering the attack of was a dragon. He still could attack twice regardless but still Incase anyone tries this deck for themselves they should know.

Ok so I was as baffled as you when I saw it, so I started trying to replicate it and I cracked the code First you split your deck Then you place each half of the deck at an inward angle lower than 90 degrees relative to the ground (like 60 degrees is recommended) You basically hold all the cards with just your thumb and then slowly curve your thumb upwards so that the cards fall in sequence. Lastly you just shake them all together! I did it with sleeves too c:

For those interested Flame Swordsman's strategy is basically get out Ultimate Flame Swordsman, give him equip cards that both pump his attack to insane numbers and give him multiple attacks, then swing for game. It's really fun but its biggest drawbacks are how it relies a lot on its graveyard effects and really lacks protection.

Pharaohnomes crushed Paul's spirit of Yugioh in the second match so that way Paul doesn't want to show his face for the rest of the match! Love it! You two duked it out wonderfully and both of you guys are brilliant at playing Yugioh! I hope soon enough that Team Aps plays a labrynth deck vs a gaia deck or some other deck vs a labrynth deck in the future because that would be an exciting episode to watch! Maybe Labrynth should be featured on a Slifer slackers edition episode?! Who knows but I hope you guys are having a blast and I will tune into more of your guys' content

Paul whipped up a powerful Vortex all us DL players know well, Master Duel players curse for not being enough, but was burnt out by the masterful Flamesword retrains! >.>; Even if there was a mistaken effect in there. See that's what Modern Yugioh should be. No endless negates, dedication to a single clan and bare minimum staples mostly used to do simple actions and yet the heat of battle was intense and the OTK combo was not guaranteed by either deck able to be responded to and countered if timing lined up. Just flawless!

Paul’s playing the Gaia Deck all wrong! I play it in Master Duel and you want to fusion summon Curse Of Dragon, The Magical Knight Dragon and then use its effect to return Spiral Fusion to the hand then utilizing it’s second effect fusion summon Gaia The Magical Knight of Dragons by banishing the previous used fusion material for the first summon from the graveyard then you got two monsters in play. Plus he should have used Gaia The Magical Knight of Dragons’ effect way sooner to prevent the summoning of Ultimate Flame Swordsman.

Seeing you two go back and forth on the knife edge of a win was genuinely impressive and compelling. You two built some great decks for exhibition play. Matches like these show the best side of modern-ish Yugioh: you can have all the combos and deck searching and special summons you want, so long as you don't run cards that tell your opponent to stop playing.

Ok, here's a fact that maybe you didn't notice: Activated Flame Dragon's effect when it had its effects negated and could not attack due to being summoned by Fusion Armament Another missplay here 18:00 He targeted Flame Dragon with the Realm to increase Flame Swordsman's ATK and that doesn't work like that, the effect is to select a Warrior monster to make it lose 1000 ATK and the others gain 1000 (he targeted wrong)

Hey guys, I have a question. How did/do you get all the cards in the set/archetype? Flame Swordsman has been my favorite card since I was a little boy and my birthday was in January so this release obviously got me super hyped and had me salivating for this deck. I bought some maze of millenia packs but only ended up with like 7 flame sowrdsman cards, please help! There is no structure deck, do you really just buy every single individual card specifically through the internet one at a time? Lol someone please help me out...

So I'm an old school player I stop playing after synchro monsters first came out. I'm thinking about getting back in. So I read the latest rule book. My question do you have to have a link monster in the extra zone in order to have XYZ fusion or synchro. Or can you summon them onto the field without a link monster? Also can you only summon one fusion XYZ or synchro at a time and only be placed on the extra monster zone unless you have a link monster pointing at a monster zone. Also say in the example if you have all types of extra deck monsters out can you only attack with one monster during a single battle phase or can you attack with all of them. Please I really want to get into playing with the new style and rules

2 somewhat modern OTK decks. 1 victor and 2 winners. Kinda fun to watch, the main issue is that modern deck design makes it so if you can get through once, you win the game. I'd like to see you guys play something like Magikey, a deck with many open doors that lets you do almost anything you want in deckbuilding.

18:05 Illegal move. Flame Swordsrealm can't be used to take attack points from Fighting Flame Dragon cause it isn't a warrior monster. Always re-read your card effects.
