Flames of War Battle Report - SS Panthers vs Soviet Tankovy

Welcome back to the channel folks. Soren from Burning Bridges has returned to the remote table for this game against Laurence. Soren is playing Panthers as part of his drive to 'Bring the Panther Back'. Will the SS Panthers be able to overcome Laurence's aggressive T34s? The mission is Contact with 100 point lists.

Soren was mostly unlucky to my mind in that game. Though I think he still had a lot to do even if he killed that second T34 platoon.

The Panthers didn't get the rub of the dice in this game unfortunately. They were in the right place for the maximum effect but the dice gods said no!

@@BurningBridgesWargaming It's an abusive relationship, I love them but it always backfires. I always seem to roll 1s when I need anything but! Priest bombardment and Sherman 76s often doing a number on them! Want to try the SS Panther Co & SS recce Co combination next. To see if that if the recce provides the support element they need.

A suggestion for deployment markers is painted popsicle/lolipop sticks.

Good call. Before lockdown we used Brian's nice Litko markers. I will see what is available locally in the way of lolipop sticks. Thanks for the comment!

Cheers Tom. Almost painted my own force of Soviets now. Although the idea of 15 infantry stands is prolonging its conclusion

@@Larry1983_ I know what you mean. A quick job can be GW contrast paints. Easy to paint the different shades of brown and flesh easily. Then a light dry brush to tidy up

Ha! I'd expected the Germans to wear the Soviets down right up until they managed to jump those Panthers. Another great game.

How do you stick the tuft things to your bases?

I think you are referring to the tall grass/reeds. These are the same material as the cornfields and cut from door mats. I leave the thick matt material on the fibres so I can super glue them directly onto the plastic base. I then add the figures and fill in around. Thanks for watching!
