I feel you guys missed a very subtle but important theme of the series...that is, the parents of the two main characters. The girl being afraid that her father would know of her relationship. Which considering the fact that her mother died should have brought them closer, but didn't happen and the fear she has of him, especially when compared to the longing for her mother, does show the regressive nature of her father. Secondly the guys mother. The fear, almost to the point of being paralytic, he feels when he thinks of going home with one bad report card while having a habit of good grades shows how much parental strain he is under. These are recurring problems in almost the whole of India. The excessive expectations and restrictions that they put on their kids, causes a lot of students to have anxiety, depression, social incompetence, and other mental health problems, and that too in a country where seeking therapy is frowned upon. This was a big underlying theme of the show, which I believe needs to be discussed more and I hope you guys would find a reason to talk about this. P.S. Typing on a mobile sucks. Cheers.

I could understand the guy's fear of his mother, my parents are not teachers but I have observed that the kids whose parents are teachers, they really fear their parents because parents are really obsessed with subject that they teach and they expect their children should score good marks in them because its a thing against thier pride if they are teaching math and their kid is failing in Math. I suppose that they feel if they could not teach their own child to score good marks, they can't claim to be a good teacher.
