Special Ed teacher here. Yes, ADD/ADHD can be described as too much attention in a sense that people have divided attention on multiple things at the same time but have difficulty concentrating on one thing. I can't and am not diagnosing anyone, though.

We can also focus on one thing for hours on end and forget about everything else or become very obsessed with a topic/show/music artist/etc for a while and have a hard time shutting up about it. ADHD is really just about attention regulation
