Hello, friends! In today's video, I spill all the tea on how teaching has really been for me the past year here in Korea (since I've been teaching here for almost an entire year now! 🙈). I've been getting a lot of questions recently about teaching in Korea, so I decided to answer a lot of the questions you guys have asked me regarding teaching English in Korea. I hope this video is helpful for you guys and that you enjoy it! ☺️
If you watched this entire video, thank you SO MUCH! You don't know how much I appreciate your support through watching my videos and commenting and following me on instagram and such 💕. I truly appreciate YOU so much!!
with 💕,
~Cherie

I traveled so much when I lived in Korea and was able to save money at the same time. It was awesome. I am thinking of doing another year or so, but I also have some other professional goals I want to accomplish in the states. If I can accomplish those goals I could be financially free and able to just travel and enjoy Korea without having to work there. 🤔 Yes I saved like 7,000 dollars and then got extra from my pension. So awesome to just be able to enjoy things in life. I am not experiencing that now in the states so I do miss that!

If you saved 7000 dollars, why couldn't you enjoy life in the states?
@WhitneyChakara

@@magicalstateofreceiving2758 lol do you think 7,000 goes a long way in the states? Especially when you now have to pay for things you didn’t before. Like huge bill every time you go to the hospital etc. Not sure of your age, but you might want to thank logically before asking that kind of question. 7000 was helpful for the first 6 months or so, but it’s not “balling”. Now, for those who can stay and save for a few years in Korea, they might have an even easier transition.

An inspirational and educational video about the ins and outs of teaching in Korea would be a very interesting video to watch. I'm sure that a lot of people thinking about going will appreciate that you have pointed them in the right direction of what will become their new Journey should they choose to go and teach. Knowing what to expect and what they will likely go through during the first part will definitely help. I hope that you will have a good rest and I hope you have an amazing and blessed week ahead.

I love your channel. You have such a beautiful spirit. Praise God. I know God helped you greatly to get where you are; but you put him first. I'd love to see the process and like what is the age you need to be youngest to oldest to be accepted as a teacher. I love you. Please do things at your pace. God bless ❤️

Hey there! 👋🏻 This video was great! It was exciting to hear about your teaching life and what goes on and how things work over there. That's crazy about the LOR. 😳 The first video of yours that I saw was when you were still in the US and getting your work visa and preparing to move to Korea. I think that was Sept 2020? 🤔 The video ended with you stepping foot in your previous apartment. I mention that cos u talked about growing and learning a lot while over there and I can tell you've also gotten more comfortable with the camera. Despite the long hours you put in with your job and KZbin, you always still have a good time and laugh a lot in your videos. It's great! Hope you're doing well and stay awesome! 👍🏻👍🏻 BTW that plushy at the beginning was adorable! 🙂

Hi Cherie....totally off topic, but I'm kind of new here and have been going back in time to catch up on your videos and can I just say that you look so pretty, the best, with your hair this color....all of your beautiful features, especially your eyes, really 'pop'!! I love all things Korean too and am enjoying getting to know you through your adventures. Thank you, 'ARMY' grandma

Thank you for the useful information Cherie 💛 I love the part where you said about your work experience. Work is all about failings and growth, and as long as it's bearable, there's still space to get better and grow and this is always what every person faces in his/her first year at work. For me as a teacher, I can say I learned a lot about teaching methods and classroom management, but I still sometimes find it very very difficult for me to go to class and teach. I get tired, maybe because I feel it's not me when I teach a whole class. I still feel like a kid sometimes and get tired of managing a class. Now a part of me is thinking that teaching a class ( of 35/40 students 🤯) is not my "style" - My dream is to teach a smaller group of students where focusing would be on the subject and not wasting half of the time controlling the class. 😄 anyway I hope to achieve this! In the coming months hopefully 🌟💛😁 I have a question: Are you thinking about teaching in Japan? 😄 for next year hehe 🤔

Very nice video, and really informative too. I'm glad you were able to find a good school, and I would love to hear more in depth of how was the process from getting your first job compared to how you found your current job. Did you feel you were better informed the second time around?

I'm currently going through the interview process and it's so incredibly nerve wracking. I'm so ready to be there but I'm terrified I'm going to get one of those nightmare jobs. I'm also nervous for being by myself alone in a new country. These videos always calm me down about the process and life adjustments. Thank you!!

How did you get the opportunity for your first school? Was there an online page you searched for and found openings that would sponsor you? Cause I think you didn't get in by any program but it's hard to find work just by googling🥺

In my experience 60% of hagwons have been bad. You have to go to a hagwon that a friend has worked in already. That's the only way to make sure you get into a good one.

Maybe consider doing a Master's degree and aim for a university position. Your M.A. doesn't necessarily even have to be in an English related field.
