Flamma FV01 Vocal Pitch Corrector Review & Demo #flamma #vocal #autotune
Whether you're an amateur or a professional singer, sometimes we all need a little pitch correction. The Flamma FV01 is a small pedal board friendly stompbox that can be used as a pitch corrector, a mic amplifier, or simply for the reverb and delay vocal effects. You can even plug your guitar into it and use it for reverb effects. You do have to dial it in to get that sweet spot where it doesn't overcorrect your pitch and you sound like one of those pop stars that actually NEEDS it.
#flamma #vocal #autotune
Get the FV01 here: UPDATE* After attempting to use this pedal a little over a year later. I noticed the reverb is way too much an the 48v phantom power will power the mic, but I get no output signal. Therefore, I do not recommend this product.

Hi there, thanks for the update :) What do you mean by "no output signal" ? As in no sound is getting out of the pedal if you power a 48v mic ?
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore 12 күн бұрын
@@lou-du-29 Yes. I tried two different mic that require phantom power. It'll power on the microphone, but I can't get any sound from it.

Do you ever get a low level blipping sound that syncs with the lights? That's my issue. I just bought the pedal on 07/06/24 but I'm gonna be returning it cuz of that. It's a shame. The autotune was decent and I liked the dual mic and guitar input functionality.

This is so much better then the actual manual, which doesn’t hardly explain anything, and that’s after searching for it online (doesn’t come with manual in box) and even with your very thorough explanation I still don’t know what the two buttons on the back do, lift and line in…. Also no option to use correction on the guitar cable in and out… so if you don’t have xlr cables, you’ll need to buy those or converter/connection cables, in addition to guitar cables … wish there was more options and selections available for how you want sound input and output… I think I’d rather go with a boss harmonizer in the future….

You may notice in the second, acapella demo, the more I turned it up, the more it was overcorrecting the pitch and sounding a bit crazy. I mean, I'm not a good singer, but this thing had me sounding like Daft Punk on crack singing "One More Time". 🤣If you use this pedal, find that sweet spot where it corrects your pitch, but doesn't overcorrect it. Enjoy. If you want to skip around, here are the chapters. 0:00 Intro and unboxing 1:29 - Features and effects 9:04 - Demo #1 - covering a portion of Soul Asylum's Homesick...and butchering it!! 10:28 Demo #2 - Covering Badlands "In A Dream" acapella 11:25 - Final thoughts

Best review I've seen. It's called the corrector and pitch correction is a massive feature of this pedal and you are the first person to show how to use it in varying degrees.. Not just doing the stupid hundred percent T-Pain. Cher auto tune voice

Your explanation was very thorough. The little unit is inexpensive and seems to do a lot and appears to be built well. Based on your demo, I am going to order one, mainly for the reverb feature... well who am I kidding, I will also use some Correction. Great demo!

Anyone had any issues with the lights flashing actually transmitting sound? Kinda like a metronome you can't turn off? Unusable like this. It's a shame cuz the autotune is actually pretty good, tho chromatic (I like it turned up all the way to be more robotic). The other feature that is nice is that I can have a mic and guitar input and have it all go out the guitar output. This is great when I'm using my loop pedal and want interesting/futuristic textures. But the "blipping" sound that goes in sync with the lights makes this pedal utterly useless. Haven't seen anyone with that specific issue yet, but that's been mine.

Very good in depth review. Not so impressed with this gadget though. The way you have to double press, pull out plugs and press buttons makes it too complicated, especially if it won't get used very often as you'd forget how it works. They've crammed too much into one box. As for voice correction, I believe it will always take it to the nearest note, so if you're half way between E and F it could go either way, as you say, best not overdo that control or it sounds most odd. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

Who makes that white mini volume pedal? Thanks
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore Жыл бұрын
I made that one for when I had my Fender Hot Rod. It's just an A100k pot, a 6 pin DPDT Latching button and a couple regular jacks. Probably cost about $20 in parts. Sometimes I think it would have been easier buying one of the JS little black volume boxes.

Just got mine. Man, those 2 quick taps to turn it off is too fast! Who’s gonna be able to move their foot like that in the heat of battle? Our singer is going to struggle with this unit
@boonfire3714
@boonfire3714 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the explanation; very helpful! The search for the perfect vocal pedal continues though. The on/off double-tap is too lightning fast to be practical, and the fact that you can only start this pedal up in “all effects on” mode is limiting. I really wish it would turn on in whatever mode you turned it off in. I can see it working well for someone who’s just going to leave this on for an entire gig, but if you’re dancing around a stage trying to use this during specific song parts, I wouldn’t recommend it
@Guitarnivore

I wish it just had some switches instead of having to know secret codes to switch through modes. It would have been much more efficient.

Hi sir , how much post processing do you have after the pedal ?
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore Жыл бұрын
I was recording into Presonus Studio One through a Presonus AudioBox USB 96. The only thing I had processing in Studio one after the pedal was a compression plug in to even out the vocal levels. Everything else (reverb/delay/correction) was from the pedal. The guitar went into the pedal with some reverb from that and out to a Berhinger DI box, then into the USB interface and the it had a bit of chorus in Studio One.

Wondering why you don't demonstrate all three functions when you play and sing? It would have been extremely relevant to also demonstrate the pedal's possibilities with reverb and delay, as they are rather important functions for a singer. Fortunately, correction is uninteresting for most singers.
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore 2 ай бұрын
I hear you. When I get some time, I'll try to make a follow up. I could care less about the vocal correction but Flamma wanted me to demonstrate it as a pitch corrector, so that's what I tried to do. I've used it for the reverb in recordings and it adds a nice touch.

Very bad review. I could not hear any auto-correction or auto-tune effects in this video. Only the stupid reverb/delay was presented which nobody cares of since this pedal is an AUTO-TUNE pedal. Come on man!
@Guitarnivore
@Guitarnivore 6 ай бұрын
Pitch correction in the right setting is supposed to be subtle and not very noticeable. The pitch correction corrects to the nearest note, so if you aren't that far off, the listener may not even notice. This isn't made for auto-tune to use as a novelty effect. It's literally to CORRECT pitch, hence why it's called a...wait for it....pitch corrector and I demonstrated that. This isn't to make you sound like a some shitty AI robot.
So YOU don't know Auto-Tune from Pitch Correction? Here's the difference!
