Hi sir, tanong lang po ako kapag po ba hindi binigay ang clear span ng beam, tapos ang length lang po ng beam ang given, L/4 lang po ba ang ggamitin, hindi na po b mag aadd ng bw?

Use whatever provided parameters for that theoretical problem. Use the least value. In practice and more realistic condition, all the mentioned source of information should be provided. It would not be possible that the beam do not have a span :) specially the loads are distributed either one way or two way. For t beams it is most likely a one way slab due to ots intended function. hi. T-beam is a design model where both slabs and beams are designed in one provision (monolithic condition). While doing the separate design for beams and slabs are also acceptable but there should be an understanding in accordance to section code 406.6.3.1.1 indicating the floor moment of inertia that beams should at 35% of Moment of Inertia since the slab and the beam has a common area as described in the video lecture. Ang maganda sa T-beam ang design is nacoconsider ng maayus yung moment of inertia para sa assessment ng crack widths and deflections while if beam and slab are separately done its fine pa rin pero may factored condition ang inertia for serviceability and factored design. Either way basta maidesign ng tama in accordance to provisions of code and an engineering judgment will be fine :) If you want to design as monolithical element, use T-BEAM approach. IF you want to designt he beam and slab separately, Use the separate code provision. at the end you will end up checking their serviceability conditions :)

Good eve po sir ! ask ko lng po if yung pagdesign po ba ng girders is the same process lng po ba ng designing ng beams na naturo nyo po? aslo sir @10:02 po regarding po sa illustration, yung non shaded po ba na slab is kinoconsider as dead load? also sir anong books po marerecommend nyo for RCD po and sinong author po? thanks for this vid sir dami ko pong natutunan! more lecture vids pa po !

the slab becomes integral part of the analysis. so beam weight will incorporate it as a self weight. girders and beams are the same analysis. it called as girders since it carries higher values oifg loads usually found at the central portion and on the perimeter.

@@ianness-0206 a t-beam can be a singly reinforced or a doubly reinforced type dependent on the current ductility. Puede siya magkaroon ng analysis ng may compression bars. If i have much time i will include another peob discussion doubly reinf t-beam. Its just the same as doubly reinf irregular section however may specific code si t beam sa flange in tension.
