Hey Chris, great breakdown of this tool! I have also been using Animate for 20 odd years, and recently found this fantastic addon . It really is groundbreaking for Animate! I was wandering if you have had any luck setting up/rigging a face for 360 or parallax effect when head is turned, like can be done in Moho, with controls? Is it even possible with FlashTools? I have been experimenting but so far not getting the results I want. Look forward to hearing your findings, cheers

You’re welcome! Absolutely can work with Illustrator! Just prepare your AI file with your characters body parts on different layers. From Animate, just import the AI file. There’s an import wizard that allows you to control what layers are included and everything gets imported perfectly.

I am using Adobe Animate 2020, when I press make edaptable , there is a dialog box that says "THIS FEATURE IN ANIMATE IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH EDAP TOOL" ( I USE EDAPTOOL 6.8.0 ), WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

wow this is awesome thanks for telling me on reddit about this. Do you use animate or do you use toon boom? I've been learning how to do a 360 rigging in toon boom but not sure how much more advanced it is or if you could essentially could do the same here. I don't have experience doing more than animation with symbols in animate. I haven't tried to approach that in animate. I'm definitely open to direction going forward professionally. What is your opinion? Thanks.

Thanks blimp! I use Animate. I have used TB before when contracting for studios that require it but I love the simpler workflow that An provides and I’m simply more familiar with it since it’s days as Flash. I also create animations in Animate that people think was done in 3D or something other than Animate. So for me, Animate allows me to be the most creative.

Massive difference! Native Bone tool is extremely limited and buggy. EDAPT is way more advanced and an all around much more stable tool filled with so many thoughtful features. EDAPT is what we’ve always wanted in Flash. The Bone tool is, imo, unusable.

@@TheWorldMemory Late reply but thought I'd comment anyway: The IK effector isn't included in the free standard editing. Only in the paid premium version unfortunately. Seems totally worth it if you're intending on using it long term though!

I'm having an issue. For example when I try to do a motion tween of my character's arm moving into a forward direction from a resting position, the layers go out of sync and the hand/forearm doesnt tween as good as the arm. Therefore I have to set a keyframe for every movement, which looks a bit choppy... Any idea on how to stop this from happening?

Tweens move in straight lines as opposed to arcs. After applying the tween there’s a tool that does an IK cleanup that you need to press.
