It's absolutely crazy how fast the water moves thru the washes!! Even when they are filled up!! When we were kids, my younger brother fell in one and it grabbed him and started pulling him downstream like he was a piece of foam sitting on top! And the water was maybe 2-2½ft deep. Luckily there was a tree that somewhat hung over and he was able to grab.... That shit moves fast and is powerful as all hell!!!

Now that's a proper flash flood. If you will recall the tsunami in the Indian Ocean and in Japan, note that front wall is very similar to a good old flash flood. All kinds of junk in front holding the flow back but as soon as it passes, the water speeds up. Excellent footage, but be careful!

Too many people make the grave mistake of thinking these dry rock beds will stay that way during monsoon season. The energy behind that wall of water will have cars bouncing off jagged rocks like a tin can so imagine what it can do to you. If you don’t have to go near them from June to October don’t.
