The amount of time and effort back then to pull off the sets, costumes, hair and makeup, action scenes, and special effects were really incredible. Now, it would be easier because of modern technology, but back then it took many feats to pull off

I really love the anachronistic and fantasy/fairy tale aesthetic of some of these old school scifi serials and pulp fiction! The blend of medieval, classical and futuristic stages of societal development for these alien cultures is an interesting take on worldbuilding to me.

I love it. Thanks for posting these! But, can anyone explain to me what is the deal with all of the men wearing shorts? Also, I'm having a bit of a disturbing moral crisis. Is it wrong to lust after a woman who is sadly long deceased? Because good Lord, Jean Rogers was just stunning.

I would guess the shorts were to show off Busters manly physique but doesn,t work on Prof Zarkof and many others, just looks silly. yes Jean Rogers was gorgeous, and no its not wrong, there have been plenty of great looking women in movies over the years. they are immortalised on film.

The original comic had them all dressed in speedos, so the serial followed suit. It wasn't uncommon for circus performers, strongmen, and wrestlers to dress like that back in the day.

Kept me on the edge of my gamer chair. Why would Flash choose Princess Aura over Dale Arden? I'll have to check them out from head to toe. I didn't even get close to their belly button, and Aura won.

fr tho, Zarkov is the real GOAT of this series. Forget everyone fighting over Flash, Zarkov's the one who keeps figuring out ways to save the cities and kill the monsters. Without Zarkov the fight would be lost twenty times over.

Looks great in colour - could find a new audience - for me, the star was always Charles Middleton - that voice - always a scene stealer in the best sense of the word - he stole scenes in around 200 films - shorts and chapter movies and proved a fine straight man in support of Laurel and Hardy and others - colour brings the film to life - could stand television broadcasting
