Flash and I do a little game when it's too hot on the arena. It's so easy to set up, with Mercedes behind the fence with a hay net and I grab a couple of buckets and some food.
Remember, if you want to try this, start off with small approximations at first, with just two buckets not very far apart and gradually build the distance between them. Then add another bucket, keep it easy until your horse is moving smoothly between them and then add another and then gradually increase the distance between, until you have a nice big square/circle. You can also use mats for this, which is what I've done with Flash in the past, as he understands how to station on a mat.
You could also offer a hand target to help your horse understand what to do.
Then you could add some ground poles and slowly raise them, or some other types of obstacles, you could alternate with hand feeding, maybe play with your horse doing a crunch or rock back every second or third bucket/mat, or a step of back up, or you could click if your horse speeds up between buckets/mats and get more energy and exercise happening as well.
The things you can do with this basic set up is only limited by your imagination.
** Watch for Flash's warning glance at his neighbour, Flash can be a strong resource guarder when training, so he needs to be managed carefully if I want him to have fun and not get anxious.
