My take on the whole Ezra Miller situation is this. My dad was a bitter alcoholic for close to 40 years and about 20 years of my life (thankfully been sober for now about 15). We tried everything. Separations, interventions, getting picked up by the police, trips to the emergency room, Hep C, none of sent the message home to him, or he'd just pretend like "yeah, yeah, I know. It's a problem. I'm dealing with it." to get everyone off his back. He had everyone on his side and my mom's side pleading for him to get help (and, honestly, my mom's a saint for how to this day she's stayed by his side). I'm not sure exactly what it was that finally convicted him 'cause during my late teen/early adult years I unfortunately became so embittered over the situation that I absolutely hated him and had no part in wanting him to get help. But it wasn't until one day at our small, little church, he got up in front of all of us, broke down and admitted that he was an alcoholic, he needed help and he could no longer do this on his own. I rolled my eyes when he said it 'cause I'd seen more than enough of that spiel from him before, but he finally joined a 12-step after that admission in church and has been sober to this day. I'm not sure if Miller's issues are alcohol related or if he has anger or some other type of issue, but my point is while Warner Bros. staying quiet certainly doesn't help at all and only enables him to act this way, the studio also begging him to get help won't mean a thing either unless Miller himself wants to get help. WB can throw all the money and resources at him to get better, but you can't help someone no matter how hard you try unless they want the help. That's a shame 'cause Miller's an incredibly gifted actor that brings a lot of charm to the character of Flash, and you'd hate to see him become a what if like River Phoenix. Nikki Sixx said it best that this kind of trajectory either leads to jail or a coffin.

It'll never happen but I'd recast him with Grant Gustin. The Flash show isn't always great but Grant is one of the consistently fantastic things about the show. He's played this character for 8 plus years. He would do a great job in a cinematic version of this character and seems to be a genuinely decent guy.

The choking incident re-enters my mind, every time something new about The Flash or Fantastic Beasts 3 has been released. The fact that neither Miller nor WB has ever made a statement about it, is just cowardly and deplorable to me. I'm not even a fan of Miller's Flash. I don't hate their portrayal, I just don't get why they act more like Bart Allen than Barry Allen. Now with this incident, showing us that they haven't changed their behavior or possibly even gotten the help they obviously need, I'm not sure I care to see those movies. Especially The Flash, since they are the lead of the film. I feel that Miller could find redemption, but they need to put the work in to get it.

I find Warner's response to this puzzling. Ezra Millar has been arrested multiple times with criminal charges and Warner's response seems to be "oh well, it's fine". I remember Johnny Depp being dropped instantly by Warner a few years back (in a movie starring Ezra Millar of all people) without any arrest, criminal charges or really any evidence of wrongdoing.
