it's a neutral building (a psi disruptor). It's mainly there to keep the ramp to your base small so you can't just run lings into someones base early game. Later on ramps aren't too big a deal and are annoying in getting troops out so they made it destructible to facilitate that. I hate when players just turtle up their ramp too so might be a bit for that as well.

I was saying that it doesn't take any more time to make scourge or make devourers than it does guardians. There was no reason not to have them. Jaedong messed up, as many zergs do when going guardians. I misread your last post, that's why mine was a little off. Sorry. I thought you were saying if he waited for scourge he wouldn't have been there in time to take down flash's expansion.

The only time when I remember Guardians won the game was Luxury in the semifinals a couple of seasons back. Other ones like Savior vs Flash in GOM, Flash vs Jaedong on Katrina and the ones with Calm failed miserably.

Starship trooper style! About the guardians players consistantly goes recently. I wonder if the therory crafting behind it goes something like. Its suposely considred that you got half of the tech and troops needed for it already. Making it less heavy cost wise. then playing the delaying game with lets say lurker tech.With the drawback that you cant afford going for the courges. Nor devours preferably.And consider the guardians more like throwaway units then they realy are.Just to rush the tech?

Completely agree with both of our excellent commentators here. I HATE when zerg switch to guardians from a position of advantage. They are so easy to counter and I feel like I see this exact thing happen a vast majority of the time when zerg try to "surprise" anyone with guardians.

you don't have to wait for scourge. It's not like it takes more tech. Just go with 6 scourge instead of 6 lings. or transform 1 or 2 mutas into devourers instead. It would take ZERO seconds more. Guards are always scouted by flash and he is always prepared. Killing 1/2 a sec faster with 1 or 2 more guardian isn't worth having NO defense for even 1 wraith.

Why guadians ?? WHYYY ??? I've seen guardians win only once and lose about 30 times so far. Jaedong had mutalisks in Flash's base and he moved them away so they can be morphed to guardians later. WHYY? He would have done more damage if he has used those mutalisks then. It makes me cry watching zergs go guardians. It really is 99% a lost match when they do that. Jaedong would have won so comfortably if it weren't for those....goddamn. Painful.....really painful :((
