Imagine if SpongeBob did really end after season 3. It would’ve probably been hailed as one of the good Nick shows that ended too soon, like Invader Zim. But just like Family Guy, Nick understood how popular it was in merchandise sales and rerun ratings and greenlit season 4. Not that I have anything against season 4 onwards (although I hate some of seasons 6-8), but just making a theory.

To be honest, I actually understood it as a young boy, when I was a person that knew what I wanted to do in life which was film making and movie production. But this type of speech does give a lot of people hope that, even if you're an outcast or an outsider, someone will come along and invite you to their group, even if the world doesn't accept you just yet. And while many people love this, I actually cried at the end of Piglet's big movie when pooh showed Piglet "Pooh and piglet's corner"...At that point, I cried. While many people love spongebob, Piglet's Big Movie's 20th anniversary to me feels very special, as that film is the only one in the entire world that I have rented it for the past 10 years, and the ending still tears me up to this very day...Almost as if it's a present that would stay there until the end of time....And the last few words from Pooh bear himself, god, it made me cry. This one just makes everyone's day happier.

@GregCubed2 ай бұрын
@@kennethdavy4051 That is correct, Stephen has gone on record saying that it was fully intended to be the finale, as the crew felt the show had peaked and they were running low on unique episode ideas by the end of Season 3. He didn’t want SpongeBob to overstay his welcome to the point where people wanted it off the air (this was a direct point from him). When Nickelodeon decided to continue production with or without his involvement he was actually surprised.

I was smiling the entire time throughout this video. There was an in-depth video I saw last year (it's since been deleted) that went into analyzing all three SpongeBob movies, and why the first one is the only good one. That itself was good, but one user left a comment about an experience he had when he saw a midnight screening of this film. Stephen Hillenburg had just passed away, and it was being aired in his honor. The entire theater was packed, they erupted when the pirates found the tickets, they sang along to the theme song, and they engaged with the film nearly the entire way through. This video is always how I envisioned that story being played out. And I personally hope the GQT theaters near me decide to show this for the 20th anniversary this November. This is something I'd want to be a part of. Great video, please KZbin, don't take this down.
