Dude, Of Machines was one of the sickest bands. Damn shame they only made one album.
@bmxriderforlife12347 жыл бұрын
yeah but we got an awesome metalcore band that did some unique stuff out of it, woe is me was formed by their drummer, and he used of machines as a decently large influence he just made it heavier, go listen to Number[s] its basically metalcore for the post hardcore parts and industrial sounds swapped for the straight up ambient synths but used in similar ways. also their guitarist has a new band called native suns, check out the song lost, and also dylan the singer did two projects following of machines, soft powers after the first break up and kakune after the whole reunion drama/second break up.

@@Branchofsin lol you clearly know nothing about what literally broke the band apart. Same concept except swapped for heavier elements. It goes from ambient post hardcore to industrial metalcore with gospel and pop vocal influence.

I’m a soon to be beginner guitarist, I’ve played bass for 3 years for school and I really enjoyed it. However I realized that there weren’t many songs I could jam out to. I’ve always wanted to play guitar as a child but yea I was given the bass for high school so I stuck with it from freshman year to my now current junior going to senior year. I want to fulfill one of my childhood dreams lmao 😂 which is to okay guitar (preferably electric). Anyways of machines - becoming closer to closer is one of the songs I really want to learn on it because just like u it’s also one of my favorite songs from the album. Anyways yea I’ve been rewatching this video constantly cause I just love the way u play the part 😀

I wish I could see the whole randomized list...but friggen Of Machines album! Nostalgia overload. Their lead guitars were special...like angelic sirens. Don't know how else to describe it. There was a band called Taken in the early 2000s that had similar shimmering arpeggios with a super heavy backdrop. They became a band called Mikoto, who ROCKED also. Check em out if you can find some of their stuff. THANKS GUYS!

Thank you for making this video. I loved Of Machines so much when they were around. I think they're largely forgotten, so this is rad. 🤙 The singer's name was Dylan, and they got back together a few years ago and recorded a demo song, then some bad things went on and they split again.

Hey dude just saying, they did the first album, had issues between the drummer and other members about wanting to go different directions. drummer left, they got a new one. however the singer had been getting grief from family about it, money issues were a thing, among other issues. the band slowly broke up. however, the drummer took the of machines sound and went the direction he wanted to go with new members, you probably know the band. woe is me. austin wanted to take the ambient post hardcore sound and make it heavier and metalcore. woe is me is basically ambient industrial metalcore, with tylers vocal influences from gospel, RnB and pop. both bands were sick. woe is me had an issue with the drummer pissing everyone off. being a controlling dick. anyways too bad they are gone. dylan anderson had a sick voice. bennet could scream well. austin was a good drummer. and the other members were pretty chill guys i hear. the one guitarist has a new band called native suns, different but good. dylan also did a thing called soft powers and now has something called kakune. soft powers is dream pop. check out casino madrid, they were sick too.
