Great Video! I remember having this toy for Xmas'93 and it was one of my favourite presents when I was a kid. However, I must point out that MATCHBOX only did toys for THUNDERBIRDS and STINGRAY, CAPTAIN SCARLET was done by VIVID IMAGINATIONS!

the skids on the actual sting ray do retract i also have the diecast version

The see through bubbles on both sides at the rear (02:50 in video) are small craft called aqua-sprites - I think these can be seen in use in the episode "The Golden Sea" (happy to be corrected).

I reckon the only reason the Phones figure saw a release (later than the other wave of figures) is because the only other character that would fit in the back seat - otherwise - was Titan. Marina doesn’t bend at the waist (though otherwise, I would’ve said she was ideal because she usually sat behind Troy and Phones in the show) and Commander Shore doesn’t fit in his chair (in spite of what the picture on the box would have you believe). Anyway, PWOR - Stingray was always my favourite of the APF productions.

Disappointed that they never made aquaphibian (short-sighted as it would have been a figure you could buy multiples of....) or Agent X-20 figures. Atlanta at a push.......
