He would go on TV or give speeches preaching about doing the right thing and looking out for everyone but then once it came down to a vote on a serious issue he would divert from his greater good ideas and just vote for bad ideas and bad policies because he wanted to appease the party line. I have a lot of respect for him as a man, but as a politician he was no better than the rest of the GOP.
