Off the camera's etc. Also, acting and Hollywood is a very difficult combination for genuine people like her to find a soulmate willing to stick with you for the rest of your life. Sure you will find somebody else even more perfect for you and even more stunning. Same with Brad in regards to Angelina. Justin was a Hipster playing Call of Duty on his XBOX in New York City while Jennifer was more at home in LA, emotionally more mature and indulging herself in topics of spirituality etc. Besides other than being both very artistic, sweet, down to earth and humble, they didn't really had much more in common. There is a reason further for the decision to get engaged in 2012 but end up marrying in 2015. Also, there were pre-arranged conditions in the marriage, contrary to Jen's earlier one with Brad Pitt. The emotional scars are still there more or less.

@Kira Nolan You don't know. Between 1994 and 2011 Jennifer was a *known* chain-smoker. Trying to quit several times but couldn't. The effects were to be seen on the tv-screen though. Dry voice, skin and wrinkles etc. However, today it has been more than 7 years ago since she quit and indeed has been living a healthy lifestyle since then. Probably had to do with her own mother getting diagnosed with Breast Cancer around that same time. When it hits home, it hits hard. Nevertheless, you *never* know what these years of chain-smoking will have as a lasting effect. But today she is looking great. Hopefully it will be that way for a very long time.

The creators came to *admit* that she was trying to quite several times and was perhaps for a short period able to succeed. In season five the most noteworthy example of this effort came forward. The creators came-up with the idea for the episode "TOW Where Rachel Smokes" in response to hearing that Jennifer was trying to quit. She and Brad had been dating for a few months already and had the goal to quit smoking as soon as possible as a consequence because of their relationship. But until that point she was still unsuccessful to lay down the cigarette for good. The creators were thus hoping with the particular episode that they could support and *convince* her enough to pull it off. However, it obviously wasn't. Pretty much throughout her entire relationship with Brad she was a definite smoker. After it came to an end it was definitely the case. You have images of her with Vince Vaughn and John Mayer and still being *unable* to lay down the cigarette. Probably comes to *show* what a difficult place Hollywood is. After all, she never came to *admit* she was okay with her smoking habit. Perhaps the moment hearing her mother got Breast Cancer in 2011 was a sign from above that finally did motivate and convince her enough to quit for good. When I was first able to learn about her bad smoking habit, I was very much in surprise. Just because she did *not* seem like the person who would do such a *horrible* thing to their own body. I guess the stress of attention got the best of her. Can you *imagine* during that period between 1995-2005, how much more beautiful she would have been if she did not smoke? Nevertheless, it is never too late to do the right thing.

@iluvlafferty Jennifer & Tate were *never* engaged. Both of them and others confirmed it. There was *never* a proposal or any hint towards a wedding. They got together in early 1996. After a year of dating, they were both wearing these traditional Irish friendship rings, in-line with his own Irish heritage. Then in early 1998, around the time of this interview their relationship definitely broke-off. Meaning they had only been going out for 2 years. However, when he was given the role of Joshua in late '97 they were still a couple and he was only meant to be on the show for two episodes. However, after the Christmas Break and the creators getting *notice* of Jennifer & Tate nearing a break-up, they were asking him if he would do 4-6 more episodes on the show. It makes sense since the creators would often write the personal stories and experiences of the six cast members in the show. Nevertheless, midway through you could see the chemistry between the two was going wrong and it was *not* working anymore. Thus they made an *end* to his appearance on the show sooner than originally planned. Only appearing in five episodes instead of the initially eight that were planned. Knowing this interview was taken on March 8th, she was really *hitting* rock-bottom at this moment in her relationship to Tate. Bearing in mind the authentic and honest Jennifer back in the day and the interviewer *not* knowing about the break-up or its details, you can take a clue that she was probably referring to Tate in sharing her experiences. Of course Jennifer is *not* a person to take a swing at anybody. Also *knowing* that Tate is not the only boyfriend she had ever had in her life until then. However, you can safely assume that some of the details, surrounding the date of this interview and their break-up happening simultaneously, Jennifer was referring to the shortcomings in their relationship too. But that is okay.

Lisa C Why surprised? Also, the end of a relationship comes when it doesn’t work anymore, or not being on an equal level in certain areas, such as emotionally and physically. At the time Donovan was in his mid-30s and Jennifer in her late 20s. There were talks about marriage, having a family and children. It was happening simultaneously as Jennifer’s career began skyrocketing to international stardom with Friends and her movies. Then, Donovan once said how he felt like punching his co-star on Partners, a tv-show he was in, when he ended up kissing Jennifer who had a guest role in one of the episodes. Showing Donovan was sensitive to jealousy. With his career further appearing average at the time of this interview and after, it isn’t easy when your girlfriend has the time of her life and you’re struggling in the meantime. So with different career prospects, coupled with jealousy and the inability to *cope* with the popularity and recognition that came alongside dating Jennifer was pretty much further the reason for ending their relationship. Sure, numerous other flaws might be included as well from both sides, but the fact they called it “quits” after just 2 years of dating says they had no desired future with each other that was able to make it work.

That's his own mistake he has to live with. It is hard to doubt that Jennifer did *not* want to have children with him. There is *no* sign out there that shows she would be a terrible mother. The exact opposite quite frankly. It is easy to assume that Brad Pitt went for the looks and adventure Angelina had to offer instead of the good heart and grounded nature of Jennifer. Even though it is terrible Brad and Angelina are divorced, because otherwise is immorally wrong and the children of course, but it is his loss. In an Oprah Winfrey interview in early 2004 when Brad was still filming or had just finished filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith they still *loved* each other. Maybe there were frictions in 2004. Take for example that Brad could *not* be there for her when Friends ended filming in January 2004 and she was going through a rough time then. The show that gave her everything was coming to an end. That was pretty harsh as the months followed. Meanwhile from January to the summer of 2004 Brad was still away filming and she herself too with Along Came Polly etc. So it's probably true they did *not* see each other much. However that did *not* mean they were not in love all this time. Nor reasons for Brad to break up with her before meeting Angelina.

freshlimejuice Yeah, they are. That was her first sort off drama movie where she got to play the lead role. This was on 8th March 1998, about a month before the movie came out. This is also happened at a moment where Friends was filming the last couple of episodes of season 4, where the character of Ross was about to marry that British woman. Ironically or not, but this was happening *simultaneously* as her first real relationship with the actor who was playing Joshua, her then love interest in the show, was coming to an end. This interview was probably taken not very soon after Jennifer and her boyfriend made the decision to end their relationship.

@Valerie L It's interesting isn't it. Following Jennifer getting together with Brad and becoming America's Sweetheart more or less ... I always had this feeling that Hollywood and the entertainment industry didn't feel like or treated Jennifer as if she deserved to be there. So, basically wanting her gone. Following the divorce in 2005 as well. Looking at how huge the campaign of hate and ignorance was against her. You know, that she didn't want to have babies and more lies. To the point she was breaking down, as could be read/observed in the 2005 Vanity Fair interview when admitting to shedding numerous tears. Either way, she deserves better and knows it. It was just a little late in the 90s and 10s. You know as the proverb goes: _"you get what you preach"_ So, if Jennifer treats herself well ... then surely beautiful things will happen in her life.

@@Kareena1988 Wrong. This is about the general reception following the Friends Reunion .... in which it was seen that Jennifer had aged less naturally and gracefully than Lisa Kudrow as an example. You can hear it in the voice, the skin, facial features etc. Martin can point it out, because, he's right. You can only imagine how beautiful Jennifer would have been today if it were not for the long habit of smoking as an example.

@Imi Clarke I know right!? Looking back 4 years earlier in 1994 instead of 1998, her voice was already deeper and dryer here. Yet, in the later seasons of Friends and her career after continuing in the 00's it became increasingly worse. She did admit she quit smoking in 2011. Even then you have some 20 years of smoking half a pack of cigarettes a day behind you. The damage can not easily be repaired or undone. Nevertheless, recognition is the first step and taking action is the next one. Jennifer has done that amazingly. Living a healthy lifestyle of water, no drugs, caffeine or nicotine.
