35 years later and that gun holster leg is still cool as hell!

And it was a subtle brilliant scene as well.. Murphy in the beginning of the movie explained to Lewis why he did that flip and holster with his gun because his son thought it was cool on this TV show they watched together. So when Robocop does the same thing with Lewis watching, you know Murphy is still in there..

I saw the suit at the place it was made at in Ware UK, can’t remember the name but he made Spartacus armour and lots more. Those were the days, he even had a stunt horse who was so clever and lovely to fuss.

I’ll say this for Bob Morton. Yes he used a dead Police Officer and yes he engineered a situation where he’d get a donor sooner rather than later but he did try to wipe their memory. He did seem to genuinely think of Robocop as an individual but also as his child in a warped kind of way. He didn’t think that Murphy would be alive in there. He thought it would avenge Police officers and help rather than torture a still living one trapped in that shell.

Brilliant Film, a true Classic and Masterpiece. Shame Robocop 2 wasn't great, and 3 well let's forget it. Peter Weller really shone in this role, and spare a thought for him, you should hear the backstory of how much body weight he lost every day in the blistering heat of Dallas during filming, 20 hour days, with a tiny budget. Verhoeven is a master Director, one of the best in the business.
@jdxsr85
@jdxsr85 10 ай бұрын
I agree. I'm a sucker for stories of revenge and Murphy solving his own murder was just awesome for the story. The sequels lacked that drama. They didn't have Verhoeven again at the helm and the violence just wasn't as impact full as in the original. This film is also paced beautifully as there is not one wasted scene. Last but not least, Peter Weller is the best Robocop ever.

Something that is usually never mentioned about the casting in this movie is Nancy Allen. I think that here she showed how good an actress she is. Her previous roles as sexy girl or femme fatale (Carrie, Dressed to kill...) didn't suggest that she could play an strong and charismatic woman; hence, Verhoeven broke her typecasting. Of course, all effects, full casting and story, are a masterpiece. But Lewis is also at the core of the movie
