Depends what internal damage was done. The Spanish Inquisition had an rather neat punishment where they impaled someone on a spike left them to die over the course of a few days, they could thread it as to not destroy the vital internal organs that would cause a swift death

Him and Trinity BOTH been soo central to this whole thing . No Trinity no Neo . That simple . " She believed in me before I did " as he admitted . He called on her to help him on rooftop scene shootout with agent and he dodges like them . She steps up to agent's head blows him away " Dodge this " When he later gets shot point blank and flatlined she tells him she loves him and he lives . He saves her when she's shot reaching in to remove bullet . He even reaches in to massage her heart . The scene where in the bathroom she draws her gun on woman whom asked to kiss Neo . The newest one the whole world tells them they don't know each other never even met yet somehow drawn to each other . As agent Smith said " inevitability " . The whole thing love between the two is like microsysm of him trying to save us the struggle against the machines / matrix in that it boils down to him single mindedly purpose is saving her . Exactly. I mean, the theme of love had been mention several times in trilogy. The Oracle mentioned to Neo how being the One and fallen in love is one and the same. Reloaded focus with Neo had a nightmare of Trinity's 'death', which later motivated him to make a different outcome and rescued Trinity instead. Revolutions also did this by a conversation between Neo & Rama-Kandra, about love and how important it is. Heck, even when Smith pondered why Neo kept fighting, mentioned if love is his main driven force to keep doing it, which I won't be suprise if that's the case, considering Trinity already died at that point. Neo & Trinity love story is important in trilogy, and Resurrections just prove it more.

Resurrections felt more like a self-aware comedic fan-fic of a film to be engaging. Even the after credits made me shake my fucking head in disappointment. Morpheus and Smith got boiled down to unmemorable faces, Trinity is somehow like Neo now (Also not a fan of bringing her back, her sacrifice for this scene just gets rendered pointless), and the Matrix is just an real-life internet parody. Defeats a lot of what was initially set up about how we feel about our world and the power of color-grading in cinematography (Green in the Matrix and Blue in reality). Not as dark and serious as the original trilogy was, even if the sequels weren't as well received. In short, it's a totally different film with the Matrix title simply slapped onto it.

Since the matrix 4 resurrection came out I don't know how it is so possible that after the matrix revolution came out when Trinity died when the electrical cores which was probably in between her that after she died that she resurface and so did neo when smith who took over bane's body to use him to kill Mr Anderson like how smith said it that after smith/bane screwed up neo's eyes for him not to see but somehow when the matrix 4 came out neo can see again after what smith/bane did to him but it was more smith than bane and unfortunately I am very disappointed that Lawrence fishburne never came back to reprise his role as Morpheus I don't know why he didn't just go back and play Morpheus again but he was and always will be the first leader of the matrix who began playing Morpheus until the very end but I miss morpheus already the younger Morpheus I hope he does so well like how Lawrence did from 1999 to 2002 to 2004.

Resurrection doesn't even look like a matrix movie. It lacks of the atmosphere that was built in the previous movies and the plot is really poor. The whole film is about unplugging trinity. She and smith should have never been back, their characters died. I thought they would have brought carie ann moss only for playing trinity IN THE MATRIX as a program reconstruction to control neo in the matrix itself, but they somehow brought her back in the real world as well as turning her in a sort of "one" beside neo... horrible choice.. .The interpretation of smith and morpheus was really close to be PATHETIC... they had nothing of the original characters... The fights coreographies are also poor compared to original trilogy...It just looks like the movie didn't want to be taken serious anymore, looks like a parody of the matrix... I waited so many years to watch what i can address as a huge flop...so sad.
